Did Dave act in an episode of Good Luck Charlie? If so, that's incredible because I just saw a clip from the show and I'm like, "who is this guy he's looks so familiar!"
33:40 The group realizing Lincoln's "mistake" is the hardest I have laughed in a long time!! He keeps laughing throughout the episode causing me to laugh over and over again! Phew, I love this channel
@@Azuresilver to be honest, I am new to this and was hoping it would be sooner. However, we have been making some big partnerships lately and are planning to bring our games to the rest of the world sooner rather than later. I wish I could give a more exact answer, but for now I can just say that we are working on it.
Very interesting. I've played Hanabi over 800 times, and The Crew (in both iterations) around 200, plus 30-ish games of The Mind, and I can see elements of all three games here. In particular, the method of communication is very reminiscent of The Crew. The moment that Linc jumped to Red 6 as his guess at 20:39, I *knew* (as in, I would have bet at least $20 on it, as someone who doesn't gamble) that he had both the Red 4 and the Red 5. That's the sort of card-tracking that you've got to do at the high levels of The Crew to succeed, and I was smugly proud when I was proved correct moments later. (I never would have discarded the Red 5 for that reason.) I dig that the game allows those sorts of second-level analyses. Thanks for showing this off! I'm always on the lookout for more easy-to-teach card co-ops.
The Crew and Hanabi are in my favorite games and I've played Expressions and can confirm the strong resemblances. I still prefer the other 2 games but Expressions is great too and more approachable since no memory and no trick taking.
@@olivierjodoin2283 Thanks for the confirmation! I'd say that good Expressions play still involves a memory element, although it's "what did people do" and not "what have they told me about my hand," which some people might find a lot easier to track. There's no question that if you haven't put in time with trick-taking games you'll have a harder time with The Crew, though. Fortunately I grew up in South Louisiana and have been playing Bourré since I was a wee lad... but not everyone has that life experience.
@@SunfallTE yes, there is still memory with Expressions at higher play level. I'm used to Hanabi and The Crew so I can sometimes guess what other players have in hand by what they are guessing in other players' hands or by what they are NOT guessing or by what they choose to discard after a correct guess, not simply what clues they give about their own hand. A bit like in Hanabi, we started improving a lot while playing with the same players and then you add in a new player and it messes up everything!😅 But this game appeals more in general than Hanabi because some people will be strongly turned off by the core memory aspect of Hanabi at any play level.
@@olivierjodoin2283 Part of the reason I designed this game was because I LOVED Hanabi, but my wife HATES it. This may be her favorite game! So mission accomplished!
@@barnmadegamesmission accomplished then! My co-workers want nothing to do with Hanabi. They love the Crew and they love Expressions as well. Now that I played Hanabi on BGA for the first time and saw they removed the memory aspect I might convince them to try it there. Congrats on a great game! I was all ready to disregard it initially as a Hanabi/The Crew knock-off and despite this I'm now the one who requests to play it to the owner of Expressions.
I like it! Probably NOT as much as Shipwreck Arcana, though. Considering the low play count seems unnecessarily punishing, and the constant feel of potentially doing "bad" in too many turns simply because of luck instead of "not noticing something". But it is the type of game I wish I could design!
18:10 ... ah man, Nikki really should have called 10 Blue her turn before because she knows thats all Dave could have (she has the 9). Then someone else could guess 9 Blue in Nikkis hand straight afterwards, becuase she was able to guess 10 Blue, signalling the 9. This game appears to be Hanabi Light. Slightly less headachy!
Dave is a classic. How can you not love this bloke?
Lincoln plays board games on another level
The way Lincoln's guess at 32:55 had me questioning my existence 😂
Another great playthrough with a lovely group! Thank you Nikki, Lincoln, Mike and Dave! :)
Another super fun episode with a lot of laughs🥰 Love this show and this group - Ty ty soooo much🥰🥰
Once you catch the giggles, you just can't stop. LoL
The blue 2 incident was hilarious! Great video

He was in three of them! Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

Thanks for playing! Loved seeing you guys have such a great time with Expressions!
Saw this at Dice Tower West 2024 and knew it needed to be on the show!
Do you have an idea of when is it going to be available to the EU?
@barnmadegames Do you know?

Me doing all kind of maths trying to figure out how Lincoln made the 2 guess. 😂
"I have some information" - Lincoln. The first prophecy has been fulfilled. 🤣

Dave: "More harmony than agony. It's like life." HA HA HA!
You guys have made me buy so many light card games...
I adore how much fun you had with this!

Lincoln sees through the Matrix while Mike had one job and missed 😂
Lincoln guessing the 2 is like him doing a magic trick in front of everyone while being extremely casual about it.
Lincoln please explain your 2 blue guess in the second game ? What information did you have ? That seemed like a magic guess.
Oh never mind that was hilarious!!!
