Same, while the Neverfull seems more worth it cost-wise due to material and durability, the Goyard (despite its rising popularity) is less commonly seen overall. It’s one of those effortless status symbols, while I associate the Neverfull with a nice commuter work bag.
My biggest issue with the Goyard tote is that it wears horribly. I live in NYC and tons of people have them. Unless it's brand new, the straps will start looking really mangy with threads hanging off, the canvas will crack, or the pattern rub off. For the price I would go for the LV, or Faure Le Page as a more understated alternative.
Honestly that Goyard tote feels like one of those freebie bags you get as a gift to grazia magazine or one of those trashy fashion gossip magazines or shopping bag from the dollar store. I would never get one but the Louis Vuitton is nice as fancy leisure bag to put with your gym clothes or sweatpants and get a nicer more put together look.
My case, I love my Goyard just because not everyone is carrying the same bag I do. But to be honest they carry the same stuff I carry with my Neverfull. I love how carefree the Goyard. And the strap doesn’t hurt my shoulder unlike the Neverfull’s shoulder straps specially when the bag is full.
. Very good comparative video! While I do like the geometric design of the classic Goyard prints, for me there is not much more to like about the totes. In the States in the 1940s and 1950s, there was a fabric called “oilcloth” which could be found in the form of tablecloths in greasy-spoon diners. They were always sticky and repulsive. One could also find oilcloth atop picnic tables adorned with Tupperware and paper plates. A clashing oilcloth often covered Formica dinette tables in mid-century kitchens. That’s all I can see when I look at a Goyard tote - oilcloth!
I got a bag organizer for my Goyard tote and it change my life! I love this bag!!!! It is very hard wearing. This bag has been through lot, I carry my laptop, I throw it around and it still is in great condition. I highly recommend it as long as you have a bag organizer.

I love the Neverfull, I have all 3 canvas in MM size. The strap drop works for me. I have never been attracted to the Goyard but do appreciate your comparison.

All Goyard items have increased prices of their classic colors (black and tan) to the equivalent special color items as of August 1. Goyard has lots of options for totes, there are also Artois and Anjou, and I feel the St. Louis is so carefree and foldable for travel that it cannot be compared to LV neverfull. Great video, and your earlier video on the Goyard notebook cover inspired me to pick one up a few months ago 🥰
The goyard is the perfect “dump” bag. Just by the way it’s made that you wouldn’t think to not put certain things in at, whereas the never full you tend to pay attention to what your putting in it , the goyard is the perfect dump bag where you can throw everything in it and not give it any thought
I purchased a clear acrylic bottom base shaper for my Goyard to give it some structure. It makes it easier to reach in to locate something I'm looking for. BTW, I use the little pouch for my iPhone. It just fits!
I have the goyard, used it once to work and never ever used it again 😂😂 very flimsy material and I have absolutely no use of the pouch it comes with. The neverfull on the other hand is perfect for everyday work bag. Great video Emma!
This is the comparison I've been waiting for! I've have done so much research on sizes, slouchiness, etc, but you've pulled it all together for me. I've wanted a Goyard for some time, but there isn't a boutique near me. The other issue is the short strap drop. I carry the MM Damier Azur in the spring/summer and the MM black Since 1854 in fall/winter. I wanted to love the burgundy equally as much, but I just never used it. So I'm on the hunt for a not too heavy tote bag with a generous strap drop if anyone has any suggestions...

It looks like the Goyard pouch would be a good size for sunglasses. I love the navy colour, but other than that I agree that it is Neverfull all the way!
Neverfull any day! My favourite bag, have two versions and I wear them both all the time. I use Neverfull for travel, and the use pouch as clutch for dinner fits phone, lipstick and credit cards. I also attached it to the Keepal as it has no pockets.
I just got the Saint Louis and I love it entirely. It definitely looks cuter and makes more sense to use as a day bag. The Neverfull is so bulky! Is your Saint Louis in the PM or MM size?

Always wanted a neverfall, but never been keen on the monogram pattern prefer the damier ebene or leather in the smallest size as I’m very petite, never in stock online but noticed it is today 🤭better start saving,would love a Chanel mini flap but the prices seem to be going higher and higher and looking at your instagram post yesterday a jumbo is the same as a Hermes x
Commenting on the person who said they see lots of Goyards in NYC with fraying, etc. Goyard St. Louis totes are heavily knocked off with probably most you see being the counterfeits. Fake bags always fall apart!
I agree the St Louis is flimsy. I love the look of the canvas though so maybe the Goyard Artois would be as better alternative. The pouch could be useful for sunglasses 😎
my LVs have not seen the light of day for a couple of years now...just don't like carrying them when I see a lot of people walking around carrying fake ones. So I have only been wearing Goyards. Only those who know knows Goyard 🙂

You know I love Mulberry and Strathberry (i have a Strathberry notebook cover to match my tote) but was debating a planner. Thing is: i just don’t know if I’d use it. Did you have to make a considered effort to use the planner rather than just your phone notes/calendar?
I love pen on paper so much prefer using my notebooks. I leave them open and have a routine of checking them every morning. With how slap-dash I can be on my phone it’s just easier for me. Also strathberry notebook cover- I did not need to know these exist Tyler! X
With the Goyard pouch, maybe when Henry is older and if he wants a little thing to put his stuff in that would be good? You don't use it anyway and from the sounds of things wouldn't feel bad if something happened to it (and he could match with his mom), and it'd be just enough for a few neat rocks and maybe some sticks or whatever else he finds.
Yes you definitely are not selling the Goyard to me! 🤣 I love the look of them but don't like the reviews I have seen or the fact the pouch strap is not removable or that there is no internal pockets. I think at best I might consider a small pouch but last time I was in Paris (late July) it was impossible to even queue to look in store as the guys came out and told us to not bother queuing as it would be closed by the time we got to the front. We went back about 5 times (hotel was round corner) and even when trying to beat the queue, it was already crazy. I remember being with you when you bought your Tote and I was a tad envious and did quite fancy investing in one at some point. I am now glad you have been the guinea pig and I will probably not bother! 😂. I have always been a LV fan and love love love my GM Neverfull.
I love my Goyard St. Louis totes! They are not meant to be workhorses like the Louis Vuitton Neverfull. I have both styles and find different benefits for each bag. But if you expect the St. Louis tote to be like a Neverfull, you will be disappointed.
I love the battle tote from Faure Le Page in Paris. This tote comes several sizes and the strap is adjustable. It is a fantastic bag . It is a luxury tote . Mine cost around $1400 US in a med size. I will go back for another. Check them out. Love your channel.
I used to have a longchamp at uni. It was an amazing bag! A very generous friend gave it me for my birthday and I panicked all year about buying her something back! X
Hi Emma! I just bought Goyard St Louis in August. The prices are incorrect. 1 August they had price updates. All pieces are priced same no more special colours. So my black St Louis GM costed me £1280 same as other colours would. Sadly it is across all lines so other items priced levelled with special colours. I wish it was price listed above as I have my eye on toiletry pouch and document pouch, but now they cost £780.. and the lining isn’t worth it.
Have you tried Fauré Le Page? Loved the Goyard, not a fan of the LV anymore purely as a style choice, have previously loved it, but I’d say the FLP is hands down the best quality of them all. Absolutely love it. I have the Battle tote and cannot fault it. They’ve come out with updated styles recently, good price point, definitely worth a look. Have a super week X

I love my FLP Daily battle tote with a zip. The attention to details is excellent and I prefer the canvas pattern over Goyard or LV canvas patterns. I ended up getting this bag for three reasons: zip, not LV (not a fan of their monogram and damien prints are too popular over here) and adjustable shoulder straps.
I can’t talk too much about these as I don’t own them, although I have a large luxury bag collection. I’ve always wanted to add the neverfull but have been putting it off since 2005😢, and now the price is crazy but still such a durable bag. As for goyard, I live in Los Angeles and I’ve never been drawn to them. The fact that their return policy is non existent is crazy. Only exchange! Probably because they know their items wear almost immediately and don’t want to deal with it. Although it’s cute and I do like the print, I wouldn’t go for it first. I’d go for others and if you still want it then buy it… it’ll wear.
Tbh the goyard tote is beautiful but over time the goyardine print fades. I had an issue with the print going way with in 4 months of regular wear and tear. I would happily wear the neverfull becuase its beatiful as well.
I've had several neverfull's and sold them all. I have a Goyard Artois in grey and I LOVE it. It's my favorite tote. I use it pretty much exclusively these days.
My friend bought a Goyard bag for a crazy amount. It’s like a shopping bag. It’s thin and with in a year it’s already wearing on the ends. I would never recommend the goyard
The Goyard looks like a $10 bag but if one likes it then that's what matters. I guess one has to go into the purchase knowing it doesn't have any details and might rip one day. I wish Goyard put a little more effort into that bag and especially that weird pouch.
In America, the Goyard brand isn't very known. I actually first heard about it when this TH-camr came across a smaller version of that Goyard bag. The first time I saw the canvas, I was really not impressed. Visually, imo, it's not cute lol

Thanks! I don’t have the accessories. Instead I’ve always used the Pallas clutch though it is now discontinued. It’s just got a little more detail to it and has crossbody and should options. Some of the Gucci totes are cute- and Burberry put some of their gorgeous totes in the outlet- regret not buying one a few years ago. if you want something more square and formal then Dior has just brought out a new one but this is very Chanel GST style so a totally different look

Let’s be real, both bags are cheap plastic bags for life but the LV version is slightly better. The LV version is made in any country other than the one on its “made in” stamp but saying bath we love them and will continue buying them.
Those are no "luxury bags". They are designer bags and you are paying for substandard products made of flimsy materials. Luxury bags are normally leather and handcrafted with exquisite detail and high quality hardware.
Sorry, but the Goyard bag don´t have luxury quality at all. The price is ridiculous for this trash and the bag is not that beautiful at all. I don´t see the appeal for the bag, I see the appeal for the status because I know that people like this kinds of products because of the price and exclusivity that the marketing and price offers. On the other hand, Louis Vuitton is pure luxury! The bags of this brand have true status, true quality, true craftmansship and the canvas is the best in the world. I bought my Neverfull GM in Milan and took it to Barcelona, wore it every day with full of stuffs. It held really well, the leather is so sturdy!

I love my FLP Daily battle tote with a zip. The attention to details is excellent and I prefer the canvas pattern over Goyard or LV canvas patterns. I ended up getting this bag for three reasons: zip, not LV (not a fan of their monogram and damien prints are too popular over here) and adjustable shoulder straps.
How about the Artois since it has a zipper and has enforced corners?
I have the Goyard Anjou and it’s a much better upgrade on the Saint Louis. The zip and leather corners give it structure and more practicality.
I can’t talk too much about these as I don’t own them, although I have a large luxury bag collection. I’ve always wanted to add the neverfull but have been putting it off since 2005😢, and now the price is crazy but still such a durable bag. As for goyard, I live in Los Angeles and I’ve never been drawn to them. The fact that their return policy is non existent is crazy. Only exchange! Probably because they know their items wear almost immediately and don’t want to deal with it. Although it’s cute and I do like the print, I wouldn’t go for it first. I’d go for others and if you still want it then buy it… it’ll wear.
I love my Goyard tote. I’ve had no issues with it and I don’t see everyone with one ❤
The neverfull is a classic. I love mine. I brought it preloved and it still looks great. The Goyard is a no for me.

Tbh the goyard tote is beautiful but over time the goyardine print fades. I had an issue with the print going way with in 4 months of regular wear and tear. I would happily wear the neverfull becuase its beatiful as well.

I like the Goyard but I’ve a €250 off white nylon tote which seems sturdier
I would also recommend Moynat and Fauré-Lepage for similar bags in a the same price range, and much better quality/durable than the Goyard I think.

I've had several neverfull's and sold them all. I have a Goyard Artois in grey and I LOVE it. It's my favorite tote. I use it pretty much exclusively these days.

My friend bought a Goyard bag for a crazy amount. It’s like a shopping bag. It’s thin and with in a year it’s already wearing on the ends. I would never recommend the goyard

The Goyard looks like a $10 bag but if one likes it then that's what matters. I guess one has to go into the purchase knowing it doesn't have any details and might rip one day. I wish Goyard put a little more effort into that bag and especially that weird pouch.

In America, the Goyard brand isn't very known. I actually first heard about it when this TH-camr came across a smaller version of that Goyard bag. The first time I saw the canvas, I was really not impressed. Visually, imo, it's not cute lol

Thanks! I don’t have the accessories. Instead I’ve always used the Pallas clutch though it is now discontinued. It’s just got a little more detail to it and has crossbody and should options. Some of the Gucci totes are cute- and Burberry put some of their gorgeous totes in the outlet- regret not buying one a few years ago. if you want something more square and formal then Dior has just brought out a new one but this is very Chanel GST style so a totally different look

Let’s be real, both bags are cheap plastic bags for life but the LV version is slightly better. The LV version is made in any country other than the one on its “made in” stamp but saying bath we love them and will continue buying them.

Those are no "luxury bags". They are designer bags and you are paying for substandard products made of flimsy materials. Luxury bags are normally leather and handcrafted with exquisite detail and high quality hardware.

Both are ugly and bad quality. Go for MOYNAT reversible tote, you are sort of getting 2 bags in 1 since it is reversible.
Sorry, but the Goyard bag don´t have luxury quality at all. The price is ridiculous for this trash and the bag is not that beautiful at all. I don´t see the appeal for the bag, I see the appeal for the status because I know that people like this kinds of products because of the price and exclusivity that the marketing and price offers. On the other hand, Louis Vuitton is pure luxury! The bags of this brand have true status, true quality, true craftmansship and the canvas is the best in the world. Goyard don´t fool me with their canvas secret recipe because is pure trash and when things are secret it´s because they are trash.
