Lovely video and exacly this kind of tutorials that is needed! All the other youtubers just show which buttons to push to create a tactic. This video actually examines the squad and infos given before clicking those buttons and choosing a tactic! BRAVO!
Bought it on thursday, finished my first season with Wrexham yesterday. What a graft it is 😱 You definitely have to park your preferences with the game this year and work with a formation that suits the team better. First time since fm04 that ive had to go to a 4-4-2. Ps Matty Longstaff as a free transfer is a god-send. Developed into a very important player.
Great video - I have been using info from last years (or year before) to set up tactics and it's a great base to work from. Basic rules I work with are 3 Defend duties, 4 Support and 3 Attack for a balanced starting point and I also follow Kev's rule re: support and attack for full back and wide midfielders. One other things I try to do, based on how most of the default tactics are set, is have the more defensive DM or MC on the same side as the more attacking full-back. One thing to note - it can help to go to Staff Responsibilities > Reports and ensure the staff member with the best Judging Player Ability and Potential is providing the reports. It won't always make a huge difference but I have seen it change the order of who the best players are and occasionally their view of the star ratings for a player may differ by 0.5 stars.
Hey mate, just started my Fm johrbey with WBA, would love to see more on pre game tactics with regards to accepting the recommended actions, and then the ingame tactics, what changes you make based on the scores etc 😁
Just getting back into FM this year after dabbling on FM23 Mobile and this video was super helpful. I would love to hear your process for tweaking tactics based on all the data and feedback you receive during and after a match.
So, I watched this video through and thought it was full of good quality "stuff" but Kev was wacking through it at a million miles and hour so I thought I would watch it back but at half speed. Fundementally epic lulz. I'm now watching Kev, pissed off his tits, explaining to me how to play FM24. I've decided this is THE way to watch lollujo moving forward.
Based on the fact you didnt look at them once, I assume you dont change the mentality or the the pre set tactical styles? Even though ive been playing for years, everything was else very interesting
Is it fine to play with 2 Ball playing CBs? I've got my partnership that's best on these roles but I don't know if it's actually functional for them to have the same role
Kev, could you explain the ESC rules please. I had a loan who had ESC played pretty much every game for me, at the end of the season I bought him offer accepted. But he did not qualify for a Work Permit? Was happy to join, so I let him in thinking I could get an ESC as he had one the season before, but NO and now I have a player on a LOT of cash that I cant play! lol Explanation required please.
I ignore that first screen cuz they suggest 4-4-2 let's say and in reality that formation and that best XI got the previous manager the sack so why would you taking over want to continue that...that's the way I play it
AI managers have their own formation preferences so they may have played something else than a 4-4-2. Also, maybe the formation wasn't the issue but the style of play.
Football Manager is really Morale Manager. It's important to sell well, recruit well, etc., but the most important part is getting the most out of the squad.
@@sld1776 To be fair, managers need to do the same in real life. Just look at United after the Sancho and Varane incidents. Or basically any other manager losing their dressing room (like Spurs last year). Any moron can come up with a decent tactic, training regime and set piece variant. But you also need to be a leader among men. Telling someone to press hard doesn't automatically make them do so.
Tactics: you see the boards expectations, you see your best squad, decide to throw all away and play 4-2-3-1 Gegenpressing 👀
If only it were that simple...
Nahh 4-2-3-1 control possession is best 🔥
4-3-3 gegenpress is my favorite (as a Klopp wannabe) but it rarely works in the lower leagues, where the players enjoy beers more than workouts.
Lol
@@brakara360 I used it with scunthorpe and got promoted to prem in 5 seasons

Gonna struggle with Robinson as a pressing forward as he will be in Dundee :D
Really helpful. Been playing FM for 3 years but this was probably the best explained video, thanks
Starting to play FM24 again. Your tutorials are gold. Thank you very much!

would love a video on staff and the best way to use them within the game Eg responsibilities
A recruitment video series would be good, seeing the differences of recruiting when at different levels

love the video, would love to see a video on scouting teams and how you set up with match reports

Very helpful. Thanks. A staff vid would be great, too.
You're so much friendlier on YT then twitch xD. Nice video man thx
maybe a video on transferwindow after promotion, what to look for and what players to leave behind?
Your guide to trainning would be a short video :) much like if i was to do one. I'm very much a Kevvy style manager.
Wow Kev you heard me….! Only joking but this was a great insight and has now given me the confidence to create my own tactics. Thanks Kev 🙏🙏
nice video kev, see you on twitch
Cheers! Any advice for Notts County???
Great work kev
Thank you!

Recruitment video would be great.
The only attacking role that works is attack forward in my opinion

They come under the realm of "things I'll tweak as I go". But I rarely feel the need to vary from them.
Can we get transfers especially as we have the new intermediary stuff. Ooh and defo set pieces too 😊

Yeah it's fine. I didn't test it yet on FM24. But on FM23 it worked pretty well
Please can you do a recruitment video
I can't have the squad view without condition and sharpness so I always add them to the view.

Yeah see lve the vid but don't have pick best 11 option on console lol. It's really irritating lol. 😢
Doing this makes player roles get repetitive and feels like you don’t understand your player
I'm using a custom tactic, lost the first league match but after that 13 games in a row without losing any
