HP Photosmart 6520 Printer - Unboxing & setup

Hey TH-camrs, here is an unboxing and setup of the HP 6520 e-All-in-One Printer.
Unfortunately my old printer kept resetting when sending a print job to it, so I managed to get this as a replacement under my extended warranty with Staples.

I used this video to set up my printer months ago. I then had to pack it back up and during that time, my brother took the power cable -_- I found it, but we also had other leads and I didn't know which was which so thanks again for the video because it helped distinguish which was the power lead. I hope lol...If it blows up, we know it isn't :P

I fond one on the side of a road it was not printing black ink I took it apart and fixed it 🎉

Helpful but I still have two basic questions - Do I leave the photo tray in the paper tray? If so there isn't much room for paper. AND how do I separate the tray covers? There appears to be three pieces and I still have the one piece that came with the printer and a piece of blue tape I can not remove. Thanks,

Kindly disregard my two questions - I have figured them out - leave photo tray in and there is no need to remove the tray cover into the three pieces shown on the set up paper - the tape removes and the paper extender is able to be used.

What's the difference between the 364 & 564 cartriages ?
In my area this 6520 Photosmart comes with 564 not 364.
For such individual ink cartriage printers, when you replace a new cartriage do you also end up replacing the print head as well (like as on HP 58 etc.) ?
I notice of late HP seems to be phasing out individual ink cartriage models & reverting to their old way of using multiple colour in a single cartriage...so does this mean the individual ink cartriage concept is inferior or problematic etc. ? or is it just simply a business move maybe they think with individual colour cartriage they make less money ?

HseOChin Im not entirely sure. In the UK the recommended Ink Cartridge is the HP364, it may be regional variation. Best to check the HP website for your country to see which one is recommended.

Is it then possible that in actuality technically there's no real difference between say HP 564 or 364 ? so either version would still work on the same machine i.e. it's just HP's administrative business reasons etc. for labelling the same thing differently in different markets ?

I'm trying to print on a 5x7 invitation card from the tray. It's not allowing me to do this action, what could be the problem?

+Ani Miji You need to go into print preferences or page setup on the program you are using and select either the correct paper size and or printer tray

Had this printer for awhile but lost the manual and I need the password for my iPad . I use to print directly from my I pad but downloaded the new version and I guess it doesn't recognize the printer . I need a password it says but I don't remember it, can you help ?

donna watson Hmm, I'm not 100% sure with this one... Maybe you could try re-setting the printer to factory defaults via the touch screen menu. You can find the manual for the printer here: h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03406850.pdf

Andy, what is a SSID?

An SSID (Service Set IDentification) is the name of your WiFi that is broadcast by your router. Hidden SSIDs are more secure because you need to know the name of it (as well as the password) to log to that particular router/WiFi
