A thing you forgot to say about Sonny Liston is that he's the most underrated boxer of all times. But yeah, most feared boxer of all times, didn't fear anybody he's never turned down a match.
I'm sorry to tell you he never sparred with Ali that was Larry Holmes one guy fought Larry Holmes any fought Sonny Liston he said listen had a better job than Larry Holmes
That was accurate of you to say that "Sonny Listens's Jab has as much of a chance of knocking out opponents than most heavierweight's fully charged straights". Remember how Anthony Joshua's straight right knocked the sweat off of Ruiz and stunned him real badly. Yeah, Sonny listons Jab for you.
@@dailyrecipes6153 show me listings jab hits as hard as AJ's straight right is what I meant. Honestly Sonny Liston to beat both of them can beat both of them. His Long Reach and Power is going to be their biggest problem.
What also should be mentioned here is that Sonny Liston had the longest reach relative to height in the history of championship boxing. At 6'1, he had a 7 foot reach. When you watch his jab fly out it's like his arm has an extender on it. Foreman used to say it felt like he could hit you from across the ring. For comparison, Tyson Fury and Sonny Liston have almost the same reach, give or take an inch.
Marvin hagler's jab out of the southpaw stance was awesome ..that's how Bud Crawford dominated Earl Spence the jab opened up the counters that and Bud did a great job of catching Spence's punches on the gloves..
Great video. Thanks. Another channel had the same question your title asked for their viewers and I was only one of very few who mentioned Liston. Hearns was on their list...but what REALLY surprised me is that I was the only person to have mentioned Lennox Lewis' jab. (At the time I posted...and there were many posts before mine) His punches were SO on target too 🎯.
Pretty good video that with king Larry rightly at the top of any list ….Hagler used to box orthodox and after a clinch cone out southpaw and then do a jumping jab which caught all opponents by surprise sometimes setting up a K.O. Like against Tommy …..Tyson Fury also dictates some fights with a good jab either lefty lead or southpaw too ….

Larry holmes owned the "jab" I was wondering where they would put him. It was obvious. He said the only "jab" comparable to him was Ali whom was 5 on the list.
MY personal opinion on the TOP boxers with the BEST jabs in the business are as follows, but NOT in ANY specific order, alright folks? Right, firstly I'll begin with Larry Holmes "The Eastern Assassin" . Holmes didn't just flick out his jab to kinda keep you preoccupied with it, oh no!! Holmes learnt from training with Muhammad Ali that everything flows! 'off of the jab ' & Holmes could & did really knock opponents semi conscious with his!! Really WAS a power jab & believe me when I say Holmes would really sit down on his punches 👊👊!!. Next up: Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns. His jab was used to NOT only set up the BIG right cross, but also to keep you preoccupied & OFF balance, so that you couldn't really set or plant your feet. It also opened up some very nasty cuts too & he would also dig deep into the rib cage with it too!! You only have to look at what Hearns done in a few rounds to Iran Barkley in their first fight!! And also, what Hearns done to James Shuler (RIP). It's worth watching 👀 & it goes less than a round! Also, Ray Leonard, a real fast jab that WAS perhaps the fastest, but having said that, to be honest though, ALL of Leonard's punches 👊 were dazzlingly fast & he would throw rapid combos too. I'm ah wrap this up now as it was just a quick statement!! Next: Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin , who's just a monster in every department. Golovkin has a jab that breaks facial bones & the ribs too. Absolute natural power puncher to the Max. Has possibly ONE ☝ of the solidest chins in Boxing, EVER. Felix "Tito" Trinidad . Had a steady, fast consistent jab which he used to great effect by not only scoring points but also to gauge distance between himself & his opponent. But his left hook was what got guy's outta there & into the hospital!! Meldrick "TNT" Taylor . Mesmerising. A young Muhammad Ali when he fought Charles "Sonny" Liston in February '25th, "1964 at the Miami Beach convention centre. Just totally took Sonny apart, with combos, speed, footwork, head movement & upper body movement. Too much of everything really. Ike Quartey "Bazooka". Also, Shakur Stevenson, Lennox Lewis, Vladimir Klitschko, Roy Jones Jr, Mike Mcallum. After writing ALL that, I feel as though Iron Mike Tyson has just jabbed ME in my friggin head. Enjoy your day folks. Bless y'all 👊👊💯
Lennox could have the stiffest jab of all, the way the head of those big heavyweights was going backwards each time is insane, Morrisson even took a knee on one of his jabs.
