Freeze damage due to being improperly drained for the winter by the host railroad. Subsequently repairs were attempted but a failed hydrostatic test doomed it to static display.
fmnut Yeah, that explains what happened to her. After the excursion I rode behind her sister, the 765 to the Delaware Water Gap, which it attended for the annual Railfest event and also for excursions, one of the young railfans from the Scranton area, named William, explained to me why it ended her career so, that’s the end of another story after the beginning of a second life.
Best video of 759 around
Greatly enjoying all this vintage footage that you are putting out on TH-cam. Sound editing in particular is excellent. :-)
Thanks. A lot of the audio for the GG1 video is from Poland, Ukraine and Köln Gremburg.
Sad that 759 is never running again. But at least 765 is still as of today!
This footage is great!

What's the consist behind 759 from 0:30 - 0:55? I know it's cars from the High Iron Company, but what are their identities and history?

I am not old enough to have seen 759 but have seen 765....my question what took the 759 out of service so early in the 70's?

@@Confederalist He worked in the Reading shops for 40 years, and was a family friend. He passed about 10 years ago.
His name was Robert Moser, but was known among his friends by his nickname Red. Great guy. Miss him a lot.
