  • Willy welcomes Molly Bloom. She is an entrepreneur, a Keynote Motivational Speaker, and the author of the 2014 memoir Molly's Game, which has now been adapted into a film by Aaron Sorkin. Previously becoming the "poker princess" of high-stakes games, she once trained to become an Olympic skier but quit after an injury. Now, she is passionate about networking, building a thriving community for hardworking women, and being a producer, host, and guest for multiple podcasts.
Molly begins by talking about her brothers, who have strong backgrounds in athletics and academics. The youngest brother became a skiing champion, charity organizer, and software company founder, while the middle child became a Harvard-educated heart surgeon. Molly noticed how success stories were usually about men, so her mother arranged books for her about successful women. In her book, Molly discussed Reardon, the alias she used for her boss. Although her entire experience was not smooth-sailing, she credits Reardon as a problem solver and a lifelong learner. These qualities were instrumental for Molly as she picked them up and applied them in future moves in her career. Molly manages games by treating her players like real humans. Instead of thinking about what she can gain from them, she focuses on upgrading their experience and cultivating relationships. Although she works with the top echelon of people, such as A-list actors and bank executives, she believes they also have a desire to feel seen, heard, and remembered. Her sports career has also taught her self-control and discipline as the games call her to be more strategic. Molly practices authentic listening by taking notes of her guests so she can engage in deeper conversations. Even though she works with people who are always under the spotlight, she thinks there is no limit to people's need to feel special.

Team Molly. Wow, this woman has lived! Love this story. Tobey McGuire sounds like such a greedy, mean guy in real life.
