As someone who had super long pass my butt curly hair, I know what it’s like when people don’t like your hair cut. I got multiple hair cuts because it was overwhelming and a lot to deal with and ended up with a pixie cut after doing chest length and a bob and bang. Despite their opinions I just had to learn to be happy and I loved my shorter hair so much more then my long hair
Soooo don’t let people make you second guess your hair. You look great, it’s a new thing for you and people will project their own insecurities onto you.
I can relate so much. I did something similar very recently. I cut my hip length hair into a bob. I had been growing them since I was 7 years old. At first, the people around me were really shocked and disappointed including my family. But this was important to me. It felt liberating in some type of way. I needed this change despite what others said or felt about it.
Although I only had shoulder length hair before, I also got a lot of disappointment from people when I cut it to pixie. And if I say so myself, it didn't look half terrible. I don't understand the fixation with long hair, as if it doesn't matter wether it's healthy, nice or suits the person, _they just want it to be long_ . Ironically, I got more compliments on my hairstyle from strangers when it was short, than ever before with my longer hair. I am in the process of growing them back now, because I wanted a change again, but still. I'm almost certain I'll cut it again someday.

I felt it in my soul when you said you felt like long hair was a part of your identity and something you hid behind for years! I think it’s an essential experience for us who have super long hair to do a big chop at least once in our lives. You learn to appreciate other things about you, like your face, and also get a break from the struggle of maintaining lol. The hate is real when you decide to chop lol, like for years people told me to never cut my hair. I LOVE the way it came out. Always do what feels best for you, and don’t be afraid of making mistakes/experimenting.

This video is giving me a lot of motivation to get my life together, since it's December at the moment and I'm moving schools to a new state, not to mention starting year 10 is a stress load, but this honestly helped me gain the strength I needed to move on!

I loved this video so much and I love your hair!! I've trying to improve myself and become more productive and I've rewarded myself with the things I always wanted. And that included some physical changes. And it was all as long as I feel like I'm the best version of myself.

Hi Breanna! I also went through a similar experience a few months ago. I always had hair that was past my waist line for all my life and it was also my most common identifiable feature and a safety blanket for me. I am a student athlete in college now and decided that before I left for college to cut it off because I felt I was ready to, it would fit my new lifestyle, and it would be something different! I cut off 14 inches which is crazy!! Most of my loved ones told me i would regret it...but I have loved it! I do miss my long hair but I love the change! But I appreciate your chill vlogs and especially this video :)

I feel like most people don't understand the love some women have for their hair when its at a length where its honestly been a part of u for long and one of your most adored and recognizebel features about you, like mine was that long too, and I loved it so much but I cut like 7-8 inches of it and honestly feel great, I trying to comfort myself and not miss It, but it really is such a relief and so much easier to handle especially now being focused on school and so much other stuff. short hair descent suit me its 3 inches over my shoulders and yeah just trying to get used to the new look- YOU LOOK GREAT AND JUST WANTEDT TO SAY THAT I DEF RELATE TO U AND UR ONE OF MY FAV TH-camRS!!
