Nature has some great tools for spattering too.
Small bunches of pine needles, various types of grasses, twigs, stems, etc.
My pup helps create interesting effects when he jiggles my right hand.

Lindsay, how cool that we can add our own effects more naturally than with a stamp pad, for some that works fine but nice to know that there are so many options. I think a well-thought out, controlled spatter technique can add much to a composition. Unfortunately, I think it is being overused by many artists in ways that adds nothing to the painting and, in many cases, ruins the mood or effect of the image. It becomes just another random technique thrown onto an image because the artist can't think of anything else to do and thinks it might "add texture" or "interest." Which it almost totally never does. Ugh.
I like the use of splatters shown here because they have a purpose and relate to the images in the painting.

I tend to be a control freak and have use a ball embossing tool or cotton swab to get controlled drops when I was creating a card background. It's especially good when trying to get controlled color blends. I'm working on the control/perfection thing. :)

I had some hanging in a restaurant in Abq. They told me several ppl asked them where they got their Jackson Pollak's!!! I had to look him up bc I'd never heard of him (ugh! the younger days!)

@@AliceNsWonderland I love finding homies 😁 I grew up out there, 15 years or so .IWas 7-8 when we moved out there. I was 18 when I left, Indiana . I remember juan tabo. ALMOST got arested on central...long story. I loved roaming around in the mountains, and out on the other side on the platoes, volcanoes, out to the rio purco. I know im not spelling it right. I don’t know about environmentally friendly in the long run. I bought a Russian military coat last winter. It’s like 60 years old and not sitting in some dump. Made with sheep lining (there is no synthetic material that exists that’s even close to being as warm as sheep) so it held up threw the years. Probably kept many people warm in that time. Still looks great. A plastic coat you probably wouldn’t get 10 years of use out of it. And often plastic that makes coat, bags and things like that are very a complicated plastic so it’s hard to reuse or recycle. So like your plastic brush, it probably won’t hold up threw the years. Well maybe a brush but definitely not a coat. And my coat is still being used and not in the ocean. It really depends on what product your talking about but plastic usually doesn’t hold up well so you might as well get a sweet Russian military coat that will last you years and years. Instead of a plastic one that’s not as warm and won’t last as long and end up in the trash. My coat is older then my parents it’s kind of funny

How can I create a similar splatter that’s on a jaw breaker
Make a mask/stencil to protect all but the jawbreaker and use a toothbrush to spatter paint
