Mornay Visser was one of the most exciting hookers in South African domestic rugby in 1994/95. Unlucky to be playing at the same time as Uli Schmidt, James Dalton, Chris Rossouw, John Allan and Naka Drotske, Visser nevertheless made enough of an impression to be called up to the Springbok training camps ahead of the World Cup.
Unfortunately the swashbuckling hooker was overlooked by Bok coach Kitch Christie but Mornay did at least fulfill a boyhood dream by making an on-field Test match appearance for the Boks in a pre-Rugby World Cup game against Western Samoa.
Get ready for an exciting trip down memory lane as Visser recalls those days where his most ardent supporters lamented his status as a nearly-man. Mornay looks on the bright side and happily takes us back to those days in the mid-90s in this fresh and honest account as he remembers it.
You’re not going to want to miss this one!

I really enjoyed what Mornay had to say here. Interesting perspective that he shares.

Thanks Francis. I know that the lesser-known Boks don't get as many views as the more famous players but to me it's always fascinating to hear the stories from the guys who only had short careers. Oftentimes they have the best stories to share!
Plus I'm a WP fan so as a boy I loved Mornay!

No he's perfectly fine. He just slimmed down after his playing days. Most guys obviously go the other way but he is still very fit and in shape. Goes for regular hikes with Justin Swart actually.
PS Justin is coming up in the next few weeks too!

@@frontrowrugby thats cool. Glad he's still doing well. His brother lived next door to my sister and brother in law. He attended their wedding and was hilarious. Was also a good player. Very good scrum half

Good memories! There are one or two guys I've invited on to the show but because of illness they are unable to. Thankfully Mornay is not in that category.
Nevertheless we wish our heroes well who are ill.

I really don’t remember this guy. Then again we didn’t have TV back then on the farm.
