Say that a little louder. Y'all are right about people who don't want to work, but there's also the WORKING POOR! They're working full time or have two or three part time gigs. Their corporate bosses are paying so little that they QUALIFY for snap and Medicaid. They're disproportionately black and brown and there's plenty of po' white folks, too. Yeah we all need to be pulling our weight as much as possible but we can't overlook a system that's designed to keep us (especially black and brown) down.

I agree wholeheartedly. My only issue is this addresses only half of the problem. A woman can start and complete a single pregnancy in one year’s time. Whereas a man can father a dozen in the same timeframe. Fix the men and you fix the problem.

I get this. How would you feel if a relative asked you to pay their utility bill and then they slip on off to Jamaica on a cruise? There is a difference between helping somebody get up on their feet versus supplementing someone's lifestyle. A kid on welfare who subsequently gets an education and becomes a productive member of society is one thing. A person who is pimping the government is another.
