I went to one of my family's graves up in Tennessee to see my 3rd great grandma's stone broken, and nobody knows who takes care of that cemetery. I documented it with a family story on my other TH-cam channel (not this one) here is the video : th-cam.com/video/9cq-YyEQAXA/w-d-xo.html
With the amount of surveying that goes into land parcels there is no way the loggers or developers didn't know this cemetery was there. They just decided to ignore it. I would put these people who don't give a rats ass about anything but their own gain in the same group as vandals. Makes me very sad and angry that these folks (and others) final resting places are treated like this. I know this is why you document these places, and I thank both of you from my heart.
Disgracefully how these cemeteries have been abandoned. No families left? God is watching you and Robert for what your doing. God bless you all for your endeavors. ✝️❤️👍🇺🇸
I do not understand how a logging company can go into and destroy a cemetery. That is reprehensible to me. Very sad . I am happy you found the one slab with the name on it. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well ❤
Hello Robert and Robert Greensbirt yes it's so horrible to see the disrespect some people have for the living and the dead. Looking forward to to the next episode. Take care God bless
Intriguing video! And tell the Other Robert he is not old, we are not old, just old-ER. Said the 64 y/o gal with a head full white hair!. Lol. Keep on trucking, boys!! I love these videos!
That kind of thing burns me up. Once you suggested logging, it all made sense. I bet that's what happened to it. On a different note, right here in our township there is a small wooded cemetery on a hillside, right next to the road. In 2004 a small housing development (less than 20 houses) went in, catty-cornered from it. Also, 3 or 4 houses on the same side of the road as the cemetery. A short time after people moved into all those new houses, I visited that cemetery, and found that it had been vandalized. Almost every stone had either been knocked over or broken off. But I had visited it many times prior to the houses being built, and there was zero vandalism! So it was obvious to me that it was people who moved into those news houses that did it.
I just love watching Dad pull up that sod, you all have such dedication to these individuals who have been forgotten, their looking down at you all saying thank you ❤️❤️ much love from Wisconsin wow after I stopped texting and after all that brush was cleared off that stone has been preserved for years .thank you!!!
It’s Father’s Day in the UK this Sunday, and my Dad has passed. It’s always sad thinking about him but your care in preserving these lives, of someones Father, child, Mother etc brings a tear to my eye. It really is admirable guys.

It's so sad when cemeteries are destroyed. I know years avo, farmers would plow over cemeteries to have a bigger field. In my home state, cemeteries are protected but not certain how many folks actually adhere to that and respect final resting places.
I love both of your channels Robert. I just love learning about history. I wish I could afford to support all of your amazing work. That family must've been pretty well off to afford a poored concrete burial marker during the depression.
Some of that sure looked like kids that were never taught about respecting other people's things and most of all not to disrespect a cemetery. I remember as a kid some city kids came out our way to see their grandparents and they found the old cemetery and they found it funny to go and try to knock over the headstones. Well my cousin and I heard them yelling and laughing so we went to see what was up. As we seen them tipping a headstone over thinking it was funny. Well we told them that we didn't see it as funny or right. They called us a couple of hicks and to mind our own business. So we did we made it our business to teach them a lesson in respect. We got a few good licks into them before they run off crying to their parents. Well then the SHTF my dad and uncle came to find us because fighting was NOT permitted. So before they started to whip us for fighting we asked them to come see why we put a hurting on them there city kids. Well when they seen what those kids had done we went straight over to their grandparents and we all headed back out to the cemetery so their parents and grandfather to see what they had done. Those boy knew they were in deep shit. Well we watched as the men uprighted the headstones and then give them boy a good lesson about respecting the dead. Then the oldest boy piped up and said it don't matter them people are dead. WRONG WORDS TO SAY that dad backhanded that boy across his mouth a bit to hard then grabbed his belt out of his pants and you could of heard those boy a screaming three counties away. Now this was in the 60's when you could still whip your kids. We never seen those kids again and yes we got our whippings for fighting even though we thought we were right in putting a hurt on them there city boys. But fighting was against the rules so we took our whipping which wasn't that hard that time... Now that's the short version of the story so much I left out just because I'm old and a slow typer.... LOL.. Looking forward to the next video... Be blessed in Jesus name... BBE..
Bobby, good for you and your cousin to put a stop to the desecration of that cemetery. And good for their family for backing you up on that. I hope those nasty loser kids learned a lesson they never forgot.
Researching family genealogy in PA, one old cemetery in Carbon Co., they removed all the headstones, planted grass and trees and made it into a park. No families were left to maintain the graves. That was one solution.
I just discovered your channel. I am very fascinated by old cemeteries. They're haunting and sad, as most people are forgotten. Makes you think about your own mortality and how you'll eventually be forgotten also. Thank you for your hard work to recognize these folks and for the way you show them respect.
Great stuff, Robert and Robert. I lived in middle GA. for 20 years and can't tell you the countless old and forgotten cemeteries that I would just happen a long on one or an old long forgotten house in the middle of the woods. Amazing stuff to be sure.
Other Robert using them 💪 today ..you tell em Other Robert about getting old but you still got the muscles going on 💯 To bad someone doesn't go out there and clean that cemetery up and piece them headstones and markers back together ..how sad it is to see a cemetery in that shape..but time goes on and consumes everything in time ..Great video Robert ..nice to see your and other Robert bring some light to the forgotten graves
Watching this made me sad, then angry . The greediness of some companies ! I don’t see any way to document this cemetery as far as identifying how many graves there are unless maybe ground-penetrating radar is used. Just tragic !

Really sad to think that someone would actually vandalize a cemetery. I just wish some of them could be caught and have to spend some serious time behind bars for doing so. The good Lord will be harsh with those that do this.
So disrespectful of the logging that went on in this burial ground! Makes me very sad at seeing these graves broken and so much disrepair and to think a housing estate going in right next door to the graves. Look forward to part 2!
Bless you Gentlemen, so sad to see these folks are forgotten, so glad you found this Cemetery, I suspect that you will notify the proper people and maybe they could put a Memorial of some kind for them here, just a thought...Love ya guys!!
It's so sad at the many many abandoned graveyards that you have found. One good thing is that the young children and the older people that accepted Jesus as their savior will be coming up out of the ground when the rapture happens. But their soul is in heaven . I just hope they all accepted Jesus as their savior. God bless yall for documenting all the lost graves ..
This is just pain awful. I just don’t understand how a state can allow so much disrespect to the dead. They should at least try to save as much as they can to keep these cemeteries to history. These people who are buried there deserve that respect. This too, pulled at my heart. It’s so hard to figure out who’s who as the stones have been scattered everywhere. Don’t let us wait to long to see the conclusion of this sadden cemetery please. ♥️😊👍👍🐶
You are doing some valuable work as you document these lost graveyards and graves. It is a shame that the people would be otherwise forgotten though their families went to so much trouble to preserve their memory. Our genealogy societies here in Australia have projects to record the data on graves all over the place so researchers can find them in databases. Does that happen in the United States?

You are doing a great job finding these old graves. Someone needs to buy you a tool belt or maybe a back pack to carry some tools and brushes🙂 Thank you for doing so much and sharing your videos with us.
Wondering since you said something about timber harvesting being done if the graves were damage by falling tree's and the people or person who harvest them and also wondering if that's illegal to since that's a Cemetery ???
Excellent historical knowledge you've gained from experience. Could make a drawing of what a fieldstone's position was normally in relation to a grave/crypt? Your knowledge of false crypts and reconstruction are very interesting.
I went to West Virginia three weeks ago and cleaned family stones. I hadn’t been there in 25 years and I doubt I will ever be back. I cleaned 11 stones. One was so bad, I would have never found it, but my eagle eye husband found it. Another standing stone was completely black. The cemetery director told me it is the family’s responsibility to clean the stones and he thanked me. People at the turn of the last century use to pack a lunch on Sunday after church and clean stones and plant flowers. After TV entered people’s homes, they lost interest in keeping them up. It was very fulfilling to pay them that respect with cleaning. If I lived there, every stone would be cleaned in the cemetery. Row, by row.
@@IrishAnnie There is a particular cleaning agent advertised to clean headstones. There a one man who has been in the newspaper that is a veteran and goes from cemetery to cemetery cleaning veterans headstones. He brings all his own cleaning agents and uses nothing but natural resources so the stones are not damaged. He even brings his own water. It is amazing what can be done to stones that were unreadable before cleaning that look like new after.
2:47 that smaller stone looks like it could be part of some kind round marker ... looks round but could just be my perspective of it...kinda looks like it was part of something bigger
Exactly what I was thinking. I have my cremation already paid for so my loved ones can just call the cremation company printed on a card and have me picked up. I’ve requested they scatter my ashes (if possible) in a family cemetery in Petoskey, MI. GREENWOOD is one of the most beautifully maintained cemetery I have ever seen. They even have created a computerized genealogy of those buried there and will help find obits and location of gravesites as well as adding to very old family plots for a reasonable price if unused plots remain. Also, they allow double burials if you want to place cremation remains in an already marked family grave. Other than my brother in a military grave site, all the cemeteries that my parent and grandparents are buried in are so degraded from the years past when the cemetery was well cared for. Now, they just sell expensive sites and never care for the grounds. In fact several of them have gone bankrupt and many graves who paid for perpetual care are up a creek until someone buys the cemetery. But they are not going to keep up those sites that they didn’t sell. So only newly sold sites get any special care. My mom and dad bought crypts overlooking a beautiful waterfall garden with plants and flowers. That was 1986. By 2011 the waterfall had been covered over with stones and no flowers or plants at all. This is how cemeteries get forlorn. The cemetery was sold and all niceties were dumped and you have no recourse.
I cannot for the life of me understand vandalism of a cemetery! Someone(s) just plowed through there like nothing. I'm glad at least 1 stone could be read. Imagine burying your family in a small cemetery, thinking all would be well, and 100 years later it's destroyed. Very sad!
it's understandable that his family probably didn't want to be buried by him-the babies may have already been there and some family or friends or even somebody that didn't have another place to be buried could be too-developers and some loggers don't care about old graveyards
Son of Larkin Davidson and Frances Reese Davidson, John Morgan Davidson married Carolyn Laconia White in 1898. He was killed by his son John Morgan Davidson Jr. in 1924 after the senior Davidson shot at his son after a drunken attack on his wife.
Do you think with all of destruction & logging, that the granite was stolen. If wasn't marked or engraved. With so much gone it just seems that someone removed it. Just asking.
Unfortunately damaged and unkempt cemeteries are in many states. I live way out in the country in central Ohio and there are several small mainly family cemeteries out here, even one from the 1700s. Most of them are in bad condition, overgrown, goffer holes, and no markers and with most of the family now either gone or they just don't care, there is little hope for them to be preserved. Most are on private property and will get you shot if you try to see them. So sad
I can’t say this was the most destroyed cemetery I’ve ever seen… we did document one that was bulldozed into the ground. But something about this one pulled at my heart strings more than any other one we have documented…

I hope this is not a stupid question. How long ago do you think the logging was done there?
I have the same stupid question.
@@hy1762 I think you can judge in general by the growth of the trees around. If you clearcut, the new trees will grow at about the same rate.
2:47 that smaller stone looks like it could be part of some kind round marker ... looks round but could just be my perspective of it...kinda looks like it was part of something bigger
with all due respect, robert sr. shouldn't be bent over pulling at that stuff like that. i'm sure he won't listen.😨
Why people do what they do, I shall never fully understand. Destruction like this serves absolutely no purpose.
So once all the relatives of the Davidson family is gone isn’t it the towns responsibility to take care of this cemetery? This is so sad.
Pitiful!😥🙏For the loved ones there and there families this is why I choose to not be Buried!!!!!
Same here I'm being cremated and having my ashes scattered ..makes better sense my love ones can remember me in the good times

You would think they would be some kind of legal action could be taken since it was paid to be taken care of.
What area in Georgia is this ?
It is my guess, that big trees fell over on these and over the years have rotted away leaving this mysterious devestation
I cannot for the life of me understand vandalism of a cemetery! Someone(s) just plowed through there like nothing. I'm glad at least 1 stone could be read.
Imagine burying your family in a small cemetery, thinking all would be well, and 100 years later it's destroyed. Very sad!
So very sad!🥺
Good to see you guys, always enjoy your videos Shame on the county for letting cemetery go to pot🤔🤔
it's understandable that his family probably didn't want to be buried by him-the babies may have already been there and some family or friends or even somebody that didn't have another place to be buried could be too-developers and some loggers don't care about old graveyards
Has any of the family's contact you for finding one or two of the family members
Son of Larkin Davidson and Frances Reese Davidson, John Morgan Davidson married Carolyn Laconia White in 1898. He was killed by his son John Morgan Davidson Jr. in 1924 after the senior Davidson shot at his son after a drunken attack on his wife.
WOW!
Sad, one word "humans" Great job guys.
Do you think with all of destruction & logging, that the granite was stolen. If wasn't marked or engraved. With so much gone it just seems that someone removed it. Just asking.
Hi Robert and Robert love you both 🥰💞
Super good video
That cemetery was clear cut.
So sad
