    Thank you for this informative and concise video. I recently purchased a farm, and it came with a stand up mower, which I have no idea how to use, but Emma resourceful Farm her and knew if I looked and research I would figure it out. Although it took about 10 stupid videos before I found yours. Thank you I will subscribe and follow you!

    Good techniques. I do professional lawn care, been in it for 14 seasons. I am so grateful that I operate a Scag V-ride 2 61in. Speeds up the route. Only thing I don't like verses a v-ride 1 is they did away with the walk behind. Have to stay on platform to run operate the machine

      Blake Gambriel that scag cut is awesome I demoed the old v ride and couldn’t get used to how far back on the mower you were, the new one looks like you are more in between the wheels. I had a wright before this one and actually like this one better, but I do think anyone who doesn’t want a stand on in there fleet is missing out!

    Some great tips. Really good to see someone putting this information out there, as an inexperienced operator can do a ton of damage! That bobcat is a really nice looking machine. Actually, learned on a 48” bobcat, belt driven walk behind, but, have not tried any of their stand up models(we always use the wrights). Anyway, just like to add a little tip that helped me immensely. When going straight up extremely steep hills the natural tendency is too lean forward. However, if you plant your feet even, keep your body upright and pull on the outsides of the middle bar like you are trying to do a chin up, the machine will not tilt back. The motion feels counter-intuitive, but, try and just trust it.

    Hey man, can a stander mower be able to go up and down ramps in and out of truck bed? I use ramps in my set up and have a Ferris Fw 15 which it’s worked great have a 36” WB as well. Never driven a stander so I’m not sure if they could go up and down ramps in truck bed. What you think? Thanks so much!

    Just found your channel. I run an exmark vantage. That bobcat looks like a good machine. About 15 years ago I ran a bobcat ztr. It was a good mower for the price. I should checkout their standon

      Guth Lawn Care Washington, IL thanks for watching ! The quick cat is definitely worth checking out the bob cats have come along way over the ones from 15 years ago I think you will be impressed. I have used the toro grandstander some and the operator platform was so far behind the mower I never got the right feel for it . The quick seemed much more nimble to me .

  • @PaulsPrimeCuts
    @PaulsPrimeCuts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    We don’t have a lot of hills in eastern NC where I live . I don’t have any accounts that can demonstrate on any longer I have used this quick cat on some hills and it does very good across the face of the hill with your body leaning out over the up hill tire . I had a wright stander rh it had small tires and was not good across the face of a hill but would climb straight up very steep hills that a Ztr couldn’t climb . The bob cat quick I will have to practice going straight up steep slopes to become comfortable with it because the operator platform is slightly behind the back tires the front tires will pick up if you don’t lean way foward

      Doug Smith from the ones I have used stand on mowers are better on hills u want a mower with large tires and an operator position that is more centered like the wright zk or even the bobcat .... the toro grand stand and hustler and the old scag stand on did not seem as good on hills as the first two

      Maria Pet Fooled DVD actually the stand on in my opinion is safer in a rollover situation.. you can just step off of it if it starts to flip ... and you can balance it better with you body than one that you are sitting on

      @@PaulsPrimeCuts are those stand on mowers more fun to use? I only have a push mower and have no desire to get a lawn tractor but those stand on mowers look like they make mowing more like a fun ride rather than mowing the lawn as usual.

      @@mrbubetube Yes, I enjoy them. More versatlie, safer and more compact so it can get into tighter spaces. The compactness makes it a bit tougher to work on though.

    Good video with lots of good tech BUT having been in video for many years remember audio is 51% of any video so I would suddgest using a separate audio recorder with lepel mic that way you can edit between cam audio and recording device in your pocket to get rid of unwanted noises. With that said I love the ducks crashing your video. Priceless

    Ferris mowers are junk. If it's got a Kawasaki engine you're lucky to get 1000 hours out of it before it starts burning a quart of oil every few hours, blowing blue smoke out the exhaust on startup, fowling the spark plugs and just running like crap. Not to mention everything on these mowers is a pain to work on if a part needs to be replaced. The decks are grass magnets and take forever to clean off due to the tight quarters. My company got one as a demo and purchased two of them because it had a comfortable seat and a spring suspension system which made for a cushy ride over bumps. But if you mow at full speed even on relatively flat land they cut like crap. I hate everything about these mowers. If you want something more dependable that cuts well, and is still made in the USA, Exmark is what you want.

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Antrtca I think most Ferris mowers will have some kind of briggs moter because that who owns the company . The mower in the video is a bob cat

      @workingcountry1776 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on where you are and what blades you use. Johnny mow goes over this with Ferris ICD decks in several videos. The overwhelming majority of lawn trucks have Ferris mowers. Toro/Exmark are great too, probably a bit better considering Toro has been #1 in turf care since Ferris was still Ferris Ubler milling and feed equipment
