- Tina Charles (born Tina Hoskins; 10 March 1954) is an English singer who achieved success as a disco artist in the mid to late 1970s.
Charles' big break came when Indian-British composer/producer Biddu, who had just enjoyed success with the disco song "Kung Fu Fighting" for Carl Douglas, produced the singles "You Set My Heart on Fire" and "I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)" for her. The latter single spent three weeks at number one on the UK chart in March 1976, and was a major hit around the world. It won a Juno Award in 1977.
Biddu's collaboration continued on a future album and another song hit: "Dance Little Lady Dance". In total, Charles spent 42 weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1976 alone, mainly due to these two records.
'I Love To Love' reached #2 in the Dutch Top 40 in April 1976.

My first English music was in 1978 in Peru. I was 11 years old. A neighbor friend invited me to his older sister's birthday party, and my mom gave me permission to go. It was a vinyl 45 rpm of Tina Charles and her hit I Love to Love. His sisters danced in the middle of the living room, and my friend and I ate a piece of cake, popcorn, and gelatine. I remember I wore my shoes with a wooden stacked heel platform, my maroon pants, and my T-shirt with printed small figures. I remember this because I wore the same clothes in my first communion. This song takes me back to those beautiful times in my life.

Susan Glister - I'm just a year younger than you but can't say my teens were the happiest though. My favourite school year was when I was in kindy. For me it all happened when I was 20+ years of age. I had wonderful friends & fun times with them. My 20s were magical. I adored the music of the 60s & 70s. The 80s music wasn't too bad, but boy has the music scene died since the mid 80s. I cry for the friends that are no longer here. I'm sad & alone these days.

well I for once did love to dance with this song while I was a teenager. I do NOT want to go back in time... We were "relieved" when we got new music played at the radio. Then we had 3 ways to listen to music... radio, tv and buying the album.
