using the crap brushes that always come with those sets as well.
I found it! It's got a 30W motor, grown-up ones on Amazon have 350W motors, so that's why it's particularly deficient in it's ability to rotate clay. You'd be better working in some more lightweight medium, like aerosol cheese.
You missed a gold mine by not putting Greta's "How dare you?" after Nova kept saying "Plastic's fine." 🤣

It's nothing to do with a loose power cable, the motor just isn't powerful enough. It's underpowered by design, simply because it's cheaper. It was never intended to turn clay, it was intended to sell to people who don't know what they're buying over Amazon, or Ebay. There's an entire industry of this and it must easily sell billions of dollars a year, tat, garbage, Ebay shite. As long as enough people give up in disgust and chuck it in the bin, rather than demanding their money back, the factory makes a profit, and that's all that matters.
Back when people used to buy stuff from shops, this wouldn't have been possible. But now you're importing directly from China, whether it's any good, or even works at all, is your problem. Yes it's sinful, but if you ever want to look up "people ripped off by Chinese companies", it goes from 50p to people buying trainloads of steel sheets, of which the top 5 sheets are within the ordered spec, and the rest are knocked out wildly.
To us, that's seen as dishonest and thieving. Chinese business culture is different. It's a whole world that's contrary to how we think about things. The fact that it's difficult to have a relationship with a company when you can't even pronounce their name, has meant there's no point in establishing a brand name and a reputation. Instead, endless factories compete with each other on Ebay on the single criterion of "Sort by price". It's not anything specific to the Chinese as a race, it's just that in the environment and culture that currently exists, there are large rewards for scammers, and very little for doing things honestly. Raw unregulated capitalism, with high corruption, means it's not just pointless to run a business fairly, it's actually impossible. You'd get out-competed.
To fill this gap, Ebay or Amazon themselves have customer-protection policies, but while they go no further than "fuck it, give them a refund", it's not going to be enough. Not while the majority of consumers simply can't be arsed. The REAL shame of that, will be when high-street shops are driven out of business and we no longer even have the option of buying from a company with a reputation we've heard of. Buy real stuff from businesses based in democracies. Being covered by Trading Standards laws keeps them at least somewhat-honest, at least to the point they won't charge you 60 quid for something that was never _intended_ to do it's job, with a straight face.

Yeah, I’m a potter and I think you did really well. It takes are students a few weeks to just learn how to centre their clay on the wheel before they learn to open up a pot and pull up walls. I think perhaps the only clay you could use on that wheel would be porcelain which is not for beginners as it’s a cream cheese bitch 🤣 Your entertainment value was totally worth it! ❤️

You have to knead the clay first to make it softer. This will make it easier to form and stick to the wheel. That wheel is hot shit though.
