I used to think the same, but I had to change my mind. He destroys lots of quite moments with his hard hitting. Plus he is a dick, too. Maybe that changed my mind a little more. LOL
Los comencé a escuchar con Catch without arms, disco sublime. Luego me gustó mucho The Pariah... Mas luego les perdí el rastro. Este concierto es una locura!! Que bueno haber vuelto a escuchar la banda y que siga sorprendiendo su gran calidad!! Edito: increíble las versiones de Ode to the sun y Bug eyes. Que polenta tienen por favor!!
I've just realized, even the performance add to the message behind "Play catch without arms". An absolutely genius piece of music with this multi-tasking of playing instruments, just to add fuel to message this song is all about. I applause.
I heard some early 2000 era bootleg recordings and based on those couple examples I thought dredg couldnt cut the mustard live. Man have they improved. The drums were off tempo and sloppy and the vocals were struggling. This performance the drumming is tight and creative/powerful, and the vocals are pretty goddamned incredible! Like, wow
I love dredg so much that I often worry that I may never love another band again.... I miss them and I don't understand wtf the mr squeaky album was? A joke? Watch this, listen to that, not even close to the musicianship or anything else that makes every second of this show beautiful
For sure their weakest album, but consider that the production by Dan The Automator increased A LOT the sense of “lost direction” we all felt when we listened to it. Those same songs, live, had a whole different intensity. Let’s see if and when they’ll be back how it’ll be.
@@StefanoGaspari79 I don't understand that album at all. They're so much better than what's on that album and it doesn't even seem like them and what a shitty way to go out. Why have THAT as their last album? I don't get it at all....wish they'd come back with new music and tour again.
He's the most talented guy in the band in my opinion, he holds down the rhythm more so than Dino most of the time. He's a great drummer, but when he "goes off script" so to say and improvises he almost always goes off timing as well. Another thing that bugs me about his playing is that he has NO sense of dynamics and plays to hard and loud during sections that are softer and should be played quieter. Those parts loose feeling and the louder and harder parts loose their impact they would have had because his volume stays the same.
Except for the mix, which is too pop for Dredg (not enough guitars, too much vocals), this is just pure genius rock music. So weel played, so weel written. These talented guys are in my music sky along with Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Pineapple Thief, Archive and so on... Magnificient.
Couldn't disagree more about the guitars and vocals. I always loved that Gavin's vocals were live as clear as they were on the records. With a voice like that who'd want it to be drowned out by guitars? :)
For some songs.... I think it helps the vocalist to play a click faster than on the record.... rather than draging behind a bit. he would run out of breathe pretty easily
Great musicians, drummer included, but he is hitting his snare way too hard all the time. Saw them live several times and he kills songs like Same Ol'Road for me. His is way too loud in the live mix. Will not go see them again I think. There is so much subtlety in many of their songs, but this drummer... annoying!
Even in 2020, this is the Best live performance of Dredg ever recorded (Part 1 is also excellent)
Agreed! One of the most underrated bands ever, too!
Absolutely, brother.
I love Dredg so much and wish they would make a new album. Extremely good musical performance.
the vocalist sounds as good as the studio version, amazing live performance !
he really does
Increible...Dredg merece mucho más de lo que tiene
Been so many years since I've listened to this performance. Really takes me back! Wish this was was recorded on vinyl. These tracks sound incredible.
¡Gracias!
Triangle was sublime...
The Canyon Behind Her!!
Dino, insane and underrated drummer!

@@holgerhahn8615 Why is he a dick?
He looks so janky but he definitely has his moments...the begining of this video is not one of them
@@ToluRobertson So interested to see your live performances. You must be such a superior drummer. Please share so we can bask in your majesty!

How could anyone dislike... only 2 but still. You guys are simply untouchable.
What a great band!! Love this sooo much !!
Que bello wn!!! creo que es una banda muy infravalorada. Ojala vuelvan a escena.
Triangle and just after, The Canyon Behind Her... that was just beautiful, amazing...
Muchas gracias
2019 going to be good...

Absolutely amazing
The bug eyes intro is so legendary and so epic
Do you mean the Canyon behind her outro? :)
Mil Gracias!!!
Absolutely epic

Bad ass, thank you much for the upload
like i said on part 1 its DREDG...its fucking dope af...but the damn camera cuts are too fast hahahaha a band like this needs to breathe
Thanks a ton for this.
Cried
P.S. loved the first set
Also a good bass player

awesome

plus it gives the strings room to shine, this is perfection
Do you really think "well" is spelled that way? WEEL? Seriously dude? I'm usually not a grammar nazi but that's a first grade word my friend. Come on.
Maybe its just me, but Ode To The Sun and Catch without Arms sounded over tempo.?.
Not just you, but some bands do that with some songs, either because of time constraints, or as a new take on the track.
....or because the drummer is rushing due to adrenaline and not playing live with a metronome.
For some songs.... I think it helps the vocalist to play a click faster than on the record.... rather than draging behind a bit. he would run out of breathe pretty easily
NO SANZEN? what a waste of 45 minutes (just kidding) dredg is the best live performance ever ;)
I wish they played “of the room” also
@@andrewj3398 of the room is an all time favorite! Sad it didn't make it in this set.
Tanbark might be my favorite.
let the demons have there place...

Yeah, I hear that... Dino's a talented drummer, but needs to calm down when the music calls for him to do so..
...or the sound guy could just not mic his snare? More than one way to go about it
