      John Something
      I don't know, I generally find that female comedians don't actually know how to tell a joke.
      You are supposed to set up a premise, and then turn that premise on its head with the punchline.
      For instance:
      *Three blondes walk into a bar*
      *You'd think one of them would have seen it*
      Whereas female comedians just try and explain why the joke is funny:
      *Three blondes walk into a bar, but it wasn't the type of bar you drink in, it was an iron bar, so that must have hurt, ouch!*

    • @hux2000
      @hux2000 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@axldave9843 A lot of men have that attitude - that female comedians "don't know how to tell a joke". It's completely bizarre because they obviously can; that's why there are tons of female comedians with successful careers. So it leads me to think: do the brains of these men make them genuinely incapable of recognizing a joke when a woman tells it? Or is it just that they're so overwhelmingly insecure at the prospect of a woman being considered funny that they lie about their joke-telling ability and hope the people they're talking to will be too dumb to notice? It's baffling! Perhaps scientists can look into this issue and find the answer. Or better yet: perhaps bigots can grow up into adulthood at some point.

    • @Loki_K
      @Loki_K 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This is absolutely perfect. For women, life is prison rules.
      Example:
      "Hey I'm headed out for lunch, want anything?" (Friendly, NBD)
      "Hey I got your favourite food from XYZ." (If a prior friendship is established and a love for XYZ is known, absolutely fine. But if this is gifted by someone she barely knows, a woman immediately wonders "what ulterior movie do you have? How do you know I like XYZ? And how do you know my favourite food from there? How long have you been watching me?)

      Andrew Smith I seem to fair quite well finding partners outside the workplace, it has never been a problem honestly.
      I have certainly worked with women I find attractive, but there are beautiful women everywhere, so I have never dates a colleague while we were still working together. I did end up marrying a woman who I worked with but we didn’t start dating until a year after I left that place.
      I have never had a colleague ask me to comment on her attire, so not sure what I would say. I would find it odd though and if it happened on the regular I would probably have a quick aside to find out why she kept asking me. Again, it has never so I am not sure.

    • @samw1501
      @samw1501 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @Hugh Jones That's a weird claim. Although I think I see what you're trying to say. Not going to challenge you on it as we'd only end up agreeing to disagree, but it might be helpful to clarify the meaning of a few things.
      Rachel:users her the phrase ironically to mock terms like alpha/beta and friendzone. People do actually use those terms and thing they are a thing. "Friendzone" is well-chosen because that phrase is only insulting if you ascribe to the belief that this reductionist way of viewing female personality and male-female relationships is holds practical weight (it doesn't).. "Beta" only works as an insult if you ascribe to the "real man" fallacy, which falls flat on its face if you make a more nuanced study of masculine personality in context with the *real world*..
      When people talk about misogyny, it's very often about this extremely reductive view which reduces women, and male relationships down to simple algorithms which place you in, say, a "friendzone" or "potential lover" category. That's insulting to women, because women aren't, in actual fact, objects, or simple algorithms to be "solved". Women are actually living, breathing people with hopes, dreams, personalities, personal preferences...
      The real genus behind the phrasing is that it turns the tables by applying the same reductive reasoning on the alpha male red pill folks. It offends because because it oversimplifies them and strips them of identity and exposes the core hypocrisy: that it's okay to reduce women and strip them of their identity, but not self-identified "alpha" men.

      That's what Nish would want you to believe. In truth though if you gave a cheery hello to some people they wouldn't be fine with it at all. This is just a comedy show, of course, but they're skirting the actual issue in exactly the same way that the Daily Mail skirts it, by taking it to an extreme in order to mock it and the implication is that men are stupid for even thinking there are issues here because it should be obvious that saying Hello is fine but grabbing someone isn't. No one thought the latter.
      Bottom line though is that this men vs women thing is largely a product of the USA - American men and women hate each other over there just as black and white Americans hate each other and - well whatever, America exists for creating division and social media amplifies it. Whether it's democrat vs republican or pro choice vs pro life - it's all dumb American shit. Sadly the shit has started to leak - mostly because of the internet. It's coming to the UK even when the problem doesn't exist here which undoubtedly makes it more confusing for people who have to fret about whether their normal conversation or behaviour is going to trigger the person they're talking to because they read too much reddit - and they imagine someone saying hello is grooming them or whatever. Remember Americans think that wearing certain clothes is 'cultural appropriation' and thus racist. It used to be that you had to gas jews to be "far right" but now people who say they don't like the new Doctor Who are "far right" - these people are trying to make a joke but the reality is much funnier.

      @@michael1 I was with you on your first paragraph, but in your second you dismiss the "abortion" debate as "dumb". Truth is it's the UK that is morally bankrupt for not even considering this an issue. You can't abort a person and intentionally killing a human being in a premeditated way is murder. "Abortion" statistics should be crime statistics. You're wrong to find fault with the US when actually the US is a society that fights over issues worth fighting for. In the UK we just wave the white flag and let the left dictate everything.

    • @michael1
      @michael1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@shaunhunterit342 It is dumb. Especially given the large number of people foaming at the mouth about it emotively like yourself here. It exists in the US purely to divide along political grounds.
      As for killing people. Killing people isn't murder - by far the largest number of people killed deliberately by other people (numbers counting in the hundreds of millions) no one was charged with murder, no one was arrested.
      Killing people can be murder but only in a limited set of circumstances.
      Things aren't crimes because you spit the dummy and whine online calling them "murder" - murder is a specific legal thing that, as I said, doesn't apply to the majority of people who are killed by other people. Intentionally killing someone hasn't been classed as murder, statistically speaking, in most of the cases where people have been killed by others. Think about that.
      There's your flaw. It's the minority of cases where killing people is murder - and there's specific things that make it so. Saying something you don't like is murder is as stupid as saying something you don't like is jumping a stop sign or flying a plane without the correct lighting.
      The law doesn't work how you think it does.
      And you're not fighting for anything. Stop deluding yourself. You're typing a youtube comment on a video for a comedy show. You have about as much influence on politics as if you'd taken a dump. Nothing you do or say will ever be of any consequence - get some self awareness.

      Of course women make men feel uncomfortable. Just like women can and do rape men. One of the issues is that the stats currently say that it's men who do most of the harassing. Especially men in positions of power (ie: at work) and from what I've seen on YT and reddit and almost everywhere, it's men who are also in the majority of getting defensive when they're called out on it.
      Doing a sketch that points out men harass women does not imply that women do NOT harass men. Nowhere does it imply that. But your knee-jerk reaction is to get defensive and say 'WOMEN DO IT TOO!!1' instead of actually taking the issue onboard and looking at the point the sketch is making. It's the mental equivalent of sticking your head in the sand.

    I got sensitivity training at work a while back. We were taught that we CAN say: "Those shoes look nice!" but we can NOT say: "Those shoes look nice on you!" - of course, the next 12 weeks everybody was complimenting EVERYONE: "Those shoes make you look hot af!"
    Management felt we didn't take them seriously. We replied that we'd really "take them", and "seriously, too", with a wink.
    We're all unemployed and registered sex offenders now. When the cops came to arrest us they put us in handcuffs, which we all interpreted as sexual assault with a sexual toy (handcuffs), so the police officers are in prison with us. Now we all wear the same sexy shoes. All is well.

    • @edmilsoneletrica

      @Sabrina Kall hum. Quite good as a general rule. But there's a problem still. You'll never gona hit on your sister in law, on the other hand you may flirt with your colleague. So, is flirting allowed? Should it be absolutely banned? If it's allowed what is acceptable and what is not? You see, not as obvious as you might think.
