Some researchers think that you get those thoughts because you as a human have no way to express the feeling that something is cute or that you love it so much that you can’t even explain. I've heard a similar thing though, when you get the desire to really squish a baby very hard, but you'd never actually do that or you think "this is so cute, I'm gonna punch a wall" - the theory I've heard was less dark though: when you get aggression caused by too much cuteness, it is because you have an inherent desire to protect the cutey. The aggressiveness gets you ready to fight off any harm that could come towards the baby, because you are its mighty protector.

Babies inspire a lot of intrusive thoughts. I was holding my infant nephew once and had like a little video play in my head of what if he slipped out of my hands and fell head first onto concrete and just exploded. I nearly burst into tears and now am afraid of concrete 😂

I had almost the exact same thought when someone asked if I wanted to hold their baby. my brain went "Yeah we can totally do that. support the head and all that. we had a cat we can handle a baby." then that other bit went "Yeah take it. Then see how far you can punt it into that river."

I had made a d&d character and I needed a good accent for her and this lady is what my character's accent is based off of and I absolutely still love it!

I haven't had these thoughts but I know what she means, I used to set myself tasks like.. my brain would say if you don't get the plate, knife and butter out before the toaster pops, you're going to get bad luck! and one time i was flying on a plane and i told myself if you sit on the window seat and look out of the window while flying the plane is going to go down! 😂 but i never have these feelings now, it was a few years ago when I had bad anxiety!
