- Here's the ninth Pure Car Sound video about the little rounded, cute, fast and agile rally car that have competing in APRC for two years with Jari Ketomaa, Robert Blomberg, and Sanjay Takale behind the wheel of Mitsubishi Mirage R5, built by MPart Sport AB.
After I found out about the recent news about MPart Sport's departure before the final round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) which was going be to held in India, I've decided to make this video as a farewell video to the team who has set their goals to do what they're going to do during two years of campaigning in APRC.
Will they make a comeback in the future? Who knows. Maybe.

Mirage R5 rallying in APRC TIMELINE.
MPart Sport AB (AB is a Swedish term for limited company or corporate) is a motorsport company who creates and sales FIA R5 specifications rally cars (although it wasn't yet fully homologated by the FIA) using the Mitsubishi's Mirage as a based car and a destroke 1.6 engine based on 4B11 unit from a Lancer. A lot of customers have bought their cars and has being used to compete in various of rally events. Spencer Sport is one of the official distributors in the UK for the distribution of Mirage R5 rally cars, they've also use it to build a rallycross version of the Mirage to compete in various of rallycross events including the British Rallycross Championship.
In 2016, MPart Sport and their Mirage R5 made their competition debut in APRC on the fifth round of the championship which was held in Malaysia. Their lead and only driver at that rally was Jari Ketomaa with Mikko Lukka as his co-driver. They did well on their first and only rally in APRC, finishing second behind the dominant Skoda Fabia R5 which was driven by Gaurav Gill from Team MRF Skoda.
In 2017, the team has decided to compete for the full season with three Mirage R5s but because their cars hasn't got its homologation approval from the FIA to be an R5 rally car, they've decided compete in APRC with a registered vehicle name in the Entry List as Mirage AP4. Jari Ketomaa returns as their lead driver with Robert Blomberg and Sanjay Takale (who has just receive his car just few days before the International Rally of Johor which was the fourth round of the championship) as their second and third driver. Sadly, before the final round of APRC which was going to held in India, the team decided to pull out from competition.

Chavet Ramiscal All Wheel Drive. All R5 and AP4 spec rally cars (such as this one) are AWD as a requirement to meet its regulations.

Both of those R5 rally cars (including this car) uses the same engine from the same car (ehem Lancer/Inspira's 4B11). It's the way they built them is different.
