    I am a full time nanny for a 4 year old, I watch her 5 days a week for 9-12 hours, and would love to help her learn some things before preschool! I don't wan't to raise my children with a lot of screen time, so this is great practice. I love your videos!

    My son will be 4 in October and unfortunately won’t be able to go to school until he’s 5. I didn’t want my son to be a couple of years behind, so I started homeschooling now that I’m at home now and have a set schedule between my kids and my farming business. We’re doing ABC mouse in August, and I’ll be teaching him at home as well until he’s 5-6. It’s definitely a learning curve for the both of us since I’m super new to this. Working on fixing up a classroom which hopefully isn’t boring to him. He loves to learn but doesn’t know some of the basics still. He’s super hyperactive so it’s a challenge. Thank you for this video I’ll take your pointers to heart!!!

    I am so overwhelmed trying to teach my daughter to read. I never was big reading fan from the start( I like reading but not story books, more articles and learning skills 😂) And English is my second language. I am trying to teach my native language and english since she is growing in usa I think english is more the priority. Thank you for this very helpful video

    Do you teach Phonics?
    Memorizing Sight Words is one thing but what if she comes across a new word?

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we teach phonics. As you can see in the video we go over the letter sounds right away. This is to help them sound out new words.

    How do you get ideas to form a solid complete lesson in the beginning? I am gathering supplies to homeschool my 3 year old + 1 year old. My drive to teach them is completely there, but I guess I'm just doubting myself a little.

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't doubt yourself! You are made for the job. Honestly, early on it doesn't take a lot to get the children engaged. Watch some of my more recent videos and they should help you out.

      Savyna10 I read your comment and hope this helps my son is the same exact way! I however continue to read he’s 5 and now even tho I think he isn’t paying attention he will ask questions even if its not while I’m reading or if I stop reading he will say hey mom you’re not going to finish the book? She may not actively sit there and pay attention but she is listening I would say to continue to do it anyway

    Hi thanks for sharing! My daughter is 5 she just started kindergarten. They want her to learn a total of 7 sight words in the first 6 weeks wich are like,my,in,it,is, and ,I. So far it seems like she's mastered a-f letters as far as naming the letter and knowing the sound they make. I'm just worried that these sight words don't include the letters she's mastered and she'll get confused if that makes sense lol. Like the phonetics of the letters she's learned have nothing to do with the words she's seeing. Should I be worried or do you think as she keeps mastering letters its not gonna matter?

      after that I started teaching her blends. Letters that go together. Vowel sounds. Digraphs. Things like that. Eventually we started The Good and The Beautiful Level K curriculum the year after this.

    Hi Brittany. Just discovered your channel. I have a 3 year old who I am trying to homeschool at this time. My question to you is how much time do you set aside for learning. I am finding her attention span for learning is quite shorter when we are on learning videos than other videos. Please share.

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely would go at the pace that she’s able to keep up with. Right now
      My girls are doing kindergarten and toddler school. So I set aside about 1.5-2 hours each day for structured learning. If I find they are losing interest we change up the activity.

    Ok this may sound silly but what dry erase markers do you use for laminated printables? I printed out some that you mentioned, laminated them, and the dry erase isn’t coming off easily. Or do you use a cleaner to wipe them? Thanks!!

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have to wipe them clean right away! otherwise it will dry and become stuck and you'll have to use cleaner. I use all different kinds of markers. but the expo brand works best.

    At what age did you start her writing?

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started with coloring before she was 2. We would draw shapes, letters, words and she would "copy" them. Then just before she turned 3 we started on actual tracing practice.
