    My kind of demo/review, straight to the point, honest and competent. Nice Les Paul BTW.

    I've been using it for years. Its a keeper! Along side the yellow compressor and black secret it's one of mooers best pedals.

    I'm getting a really annoying noise from my telecaster single coil, I'm not so bothered about the actual amp noise (preamp in my case) with the distortion, but I think what I'm getting is more of a ground noise.. and I'm actually getting it when I'm on bypass. Will this work with that? Thanks very much

    • @JustinBlair
      @JustinBlair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question - depending on where the grounding issue or noise is coming from, this should work perfectly for that. Two options - if the issue is coming from the guitar, putting this pedal between the guitar and the amp should do the trick, otherwise, the second option would be to put the noise gate in your amp's effects loop (if your amp has one) should take care of the problem. Hope this helps!

    Did you find the pedal to affect your tone at all? Some cheaper noise gates are said to negatively affect your tone

    I have a brand new cabinet from Harley Benton and when I connect it to a Hughes and Kettner Spirit of Rock amp there's a really loud amp noise when it's turned on and I don't play. Even when the gain is at minimum. Will a noise killer be able to silence this?

    • @JustinBlair
      @JustinBlair  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, it might - does the amp still make that noise when you unplug the guitar cable from it? If the noise is from something in the amp, a noise killer might not help, but if it is humming coming from an issue in the guitar or the cables, it should be able to help that.

    • @SohoInk
      @SohoInk 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JustinBlair thanks for your answer. I tried it out without plugging in a guitar and it's still there, so it might be the amp 🤦

    • @JustinBlair
      @JustinBlair  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SohoInk Ah yeah that sounds like it's most likely the amp, so this probably won't help there - sorry about that. Possibly a grounding issue?

  • @graeme4074

    If I put the threshold to about -20(where you have yours), how does it affect sustain? thanks

    • @JustinBlair
      @JustinBlair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Graeme - great question. I have mine around -20 because it allows for a long sustain (like holding a chord at the end of a song) with the distortion pedal I have in front of it in the signal chain. Each rig setup will require a different setting on the noise gate, but it can definitely allow for a long sustain if dialed in correctly. Thanks!
