  • The Tsaatan or Reindeer People are the last nomadic group of reindeer herders left in Mongolia. The moment I heard of this nomadic tribe, I started my search for the best guide to get me there, someone with a close connection to the community, and that was Erik Cooper. This trip was one of the wildest adventures I've ever been on. It's honestly so hard to capture it on video but I did my best. I want to share all the beauty this world has to offer with YOU and this is the start of some awesome trips to come!
Thank you Erik Cooper for leading this crazy adventure and to all the amazing women that came on this journey!
    I hope you enjoy!
    Thank you for watching!

They are "Tsaatan" not "Taatan" with a strong Ts sound. (They themselves prefer to be called "Dukha," or even "Taigiinkhan" (Forest People) while Mongolians named them "Tsaatan," or "Reindeer People" in the mid 20th century. Moreover, while they are related to Tuvans, they were there in Khuvsgul Aimag before borders were fixed as they are now between Mongolia and Russia. They have lived there for centuries, instead of being migrants from Tuva, Russia. Nonetheless, thank you for making this good video that highlights these remarkable people and their unique way of life. It looks like you had a good trip there.

THANK YOU! Yeah I am working on finding that balance of authenticity and posting consistently. The last thing I want to do is push content and not be true to myself. You should definitely be seeing more of me and my adventures so stay tuned. Thanks for the long time support

Hello Dani , how easy was it to do this and gain acess ? As in the connection

The trip was actually quite extensive and physically taxing! It takes a high level of riding and back country experience. I would recommend any trip to Mongolia be through Erik @erikcooperadventurist on IG he is well connected and a wonderful trip leader.

I wanted to balance showing the trip but not shoving a camera in their face. I wanted to be respectful and this is the balance I found, I hope you still enjoyed the video!
