A hot take, I think the DOCTOR did get angry in this episode but it was a softer and maybe controlled anger to fit the situation, but I could see the frustration on Xuti's face. Especially when he said "Faith, that funny little word that excuses you from thinking for yourself. "
Yes, there were absolutely hints of anger in his performance! I think standing on the mine limited how much he could actually get worked up, but I saw enough to get me excited about future performances.
I love when a new Doctor Who episode comes out and TH-cam gives me more channels to watch. Enjoyed your reaction and hope you feel better soon!

Dear Wren I hope you are on the mend . If you can have some home cooked Chicken 🐔 soup . This episode was in my humble opinion the best so far with the new Doctor , I was pleasantly surprised , a tad darker especially with the compact body tube that the military used for the remains of the passed . It was a good take on the uselessness of War where the only victors are the arms manufacturers . Anyway thank you Wren for the chance of watching the show alongside .

Also, I do think that the last episode did a pretty good job at putting the Bi-Generation thing to bed.
Basically, what i got from it was what the Toy Maker did, what he said, what he set up, and literally shoving the implications of the DOCTOR themselves in 14's face, did what the Master had always tried to do, it broke the DOCTORS hearts. So much so that the only way to heal was for thier soul to split apart and sort of clense from a future version.
That tells me that it will be used very sparingly, if ever again because instead of just their body and molecules, this effected the DOCTORS very soul.
Which puts a lot on emphasis on one of the last things he said in this episode if you think about it.
Even though he might not like faith, he NEEDS it.
And right now, I think that very faith is in Ruby because more than ever he realizes, he can't do this alone.
Susan Twist is the actress' real name, I had to go and check as well 😅

@@IloveNavaMau I stand corrected then, but you can see where the confusion comes from... Does iplayer have it listed as series 14 or season 1? Or series 1, I guess... I'm going to guess it's listed as series 14 without any changes, and that's just Disney?
The idiot hate-monger ‘fans’ were insisting that Ncuti couldn’t act because they couldn’t understand why the Doctor might be playing down how they feel or hiding the pain behind a smile in Space Babies, (which we’ve literally seen before done by other actors,) but as soon as Boom comes around a bunch of them suddenly acknowledge that he can act, but get triggered by the fact that he showed a wide range of emotions instead of acting like the version of the Doctor that only exists in their heads, (tackling every problem in an emotionally detached way,) because apparently it’s a ‘humiliation ritual,’ when male actors give an emotional depth and range to their performances wider than teaspoons, (especially when they’re black men, doubly so when they also happen to be queer like Ncuti,) since showing emotion is supposedly for ‘effeminate losers.’
Those people will never be happy, they are just miserable!
Not one of my favourites because it's Moffat while Ncuti's performance is good i don't like seeing the Doctor cry.
