How has this mod held up? Super irritated at my stock "fog lights" on my '15 impreza which make visibility worse in fog. Definitely would be interested in seeing a fog only mod video!
Thanks for the video! Do you know if my 2021 crosstrek base model has the same fog light? I’m ready to purchase my fog light kit and would like to use this bulb instead.
I don't think I would classify the stock fog lights as driving lights, as they aren't designed to project a long-range but narrow beam like a real driving light would to complement a vehicle's high beams. Otherwise, a nicely done video that will encourage other Crosstrek drivers to modify their vehicles :)
To turn on only the fog lights you have to cut its power source cable before the relay, usually the power comes from the headlights, when you turn on headlights it gives power so you can turn on fog lights, you have to splice the power source cable of the side-marker lights after the relay, and connect that spliced cable to the fog cable you previously cut. Or you can give it power directly from the battery, but you run the risk of forgetting fogs are on as the chime will not make any sound.
nice video. Do you know if the same wiring harness works with my 2014 Subaru Impreza, if not can you send a link for the correct harness. Please and thank you.
Fyi, I have replaced all H11 bulbs on my '15 OB w Osram's 55 watt Nightbreaker series bulbs. Stock 55 w Osram burns at 1600 lumens. Nightbreakers 'cook' at 2100 lumens, and yes, NB's have a much shorter life expectancy. They work great in the fogs w yellow laminX .
I've been reading Amazon reviews and a lot of buyers have problems with the bulbs blowing out. Have you had any problems? f so what did you replace the bulbs with?
Quick question on this fog light; is this compatible with 2014 crosstrek Limited? i ask one of the seller on ebay with similar products and the seller say, it not compatible. Let me know. Thank you.
The ones I got are compatible. If you go to the Amazon product and read reviews you'll see others with pre-2016 Crosstreks have installed them, so that leads me to believe all years can use the same application.
+ryan23370 Stock lights are 24 watt, the yellow H11 bulbs are 55 watt. So for 2 bulbs that's 62 watts more, or 5.2 amps. The alternator is 90 amps, so about a 4.5% increase in load. No prob.
+Eric Molina I had pics of the Aamazon product pages in the video for keyword searches, links may not always stay valid: goo.gl/pSQW63 & goo.gl/u7fH9N will take you there for now
Put these on based on your video, same ones you got, already dead after 3 weeks, and the lights are weaker than stock, stay away unless you plan on making more mods (switch to a better bulb or something).
Just a heads up - while these LOOK amazing on your Crosstrek, THEY DO NOT PROPERLY FIT. The Amazon page has a listing for fog lamps that fit Subaru's, the specific models are the BRZ, WRX, Outback, and Legacy. If you live in a dry area, by all means go for these lamps because they're amazing! But if you're like me and drive through rain and snow every now and again, these will start to leak and eventually corrode. No harm was done beyond a temporary swap back to the OEM clear lights, but it is an annoyance to have to go on the hunt for replacement lamps that do fit the Crosstrek.

I was looking around for the independent fog light mod on the net, and came across your channel again. Can't wait for that tutorial!
How do glass hold up during cold weather? I've been told they will crack.

Did you reuse the pins or did you get new pins?

Not bulb I mean fog light. 😊

How's the fit? The yellow lights look like a slightly smaller diameter.

Do they have this for the 2015 Crosstrek? I couldn't find it.
Are these adjustable? I have mine with some bright sylvania bulbs and I noticed the beam is pointing above my headlight beam

I put led ones in right away
what led conversion kit does it accept? thanks
Not sure about kit, uses H11 bulbs
cvh32093 mine blew out too, bought Sylvania bulbs (step above their basic bulbs) and they’re good now
Thanks for the bid it helped a lot I did this to my 2013 Impreza. It was not exactly the same but close enough and the lights look great

+Subaru XV Crosstrek Central,
thank you
are these compatible with the Steering responsive foglamps equipped '17 limited?
Excellent videos, instruction, and demonstration - I found these to be very helpful. Thank you for your time and experience!
Any extra draw on the battery while the lights are on? I usually leave mine on while driving at night.

I know they redesigned the bumper for the 2016s, I have a 2014. Wonder if this would still work?
+ryan23370 All years are the same
+Subaru XV Crosstrek Central awesome, thanks for the help!
Hey I like your video, just wondering if you can post or send me the link of the parts you use, I'm trying to install them on my crosstrek thanks
Part for these yellow fog lights is amzn.to/3RZTSaa
amzn.to/3cMINJA
Thanks man
Have you try to install any lights on the rear reflectors I'll look forward if you decide to do put some.
@@santiagorojas9128 just brighter led backup lamps
Hi, could you do a video on how to aim the new Fog LIghts on the Crosstrek Please :)
check minute 3:28 see the yellow dot? the plastic screw (philips) in the left is the regulator, clokwisse it goes down counter clokwisse goes up
any idea if this will work on a 2013
Thinking about getting these for my crosstrek. How are they holding up?
could you put a link to the products?

What about replacing just the bulb?
Stephen Kluthe if you put a higher wattage bulb in the stock fog lights they will end up melting the lense
Thomas Heimer this isn't true. I have a 55 watt hid kit setup with my fogs and they haven't had any issues with melting.
does anyone know if this will work for the 2018 crosstrek premium with eyesight?
i would just go with yellow LED bulbs for your '18. that's what i did.
Put these on based on your video, same ones you got, already dead after 3 weeks, and the lights are weaker than stock, stay away unless you plan on making more mods (switch to a better bulb or something).
did you end up switching to a better bulb and keeping the lens itself?
