Frank is undeniably the king. Totally awesome. The man could probably make a toaster sound great. Can I put in an order for some more Johann, please? We haven't heard him in a while.
@@basstheworldofficial Very cool. I'm doing a European tour in March, working on some dates in Germany. I hope I run into some of you there. That would be really cool.
Mr Frank Itt rocks! I think that I may have found my next five string bass. I already own a Sire 4 string fretless and a Sire 6 string, so the F10 would fit right in. Thanks for the excellent video!
3:54 a perfect shot of the tilted pot.. looks like a pot from my Sire P8 which I returned.. I guess those knobs are one reason why they can sell their basses for such an unbeatable price.. but at least they work well 😅
In my experience the knobs and tuners were a real weak spot for the Sire. Drop in replacements for tuners are really welcome. I had to upgrade my tuners on my Fender player as well.
They(Sire basses) looked interesting and had a chance to try one when I went to Sweetwater. Just didn't do it for me. The 6 string I played was muddy sounding no matter what I did. I ended up getting a used Kiesel and I'm happy. I wish I had to cash for a Bongo 6 but $3000+ is a lot of money for a non-giggging bassist. Maybe I can find a good deal on a used one like I did on my Kiesel. I've retired my Epiphone P bass because it's 25+ years old and it's sentimental to me as it's my first bass. I have an old Carvin 5 string kit that will be getting torn down and painted this winter.
I already own a v7 and P5. For a long time I was waiting to lay my hands on F10. However, being not a very patient person when it comes to purchasing at the summit of my wait I decided to take a massive turn and get Cort artisan A5 single cut neck through, so very close in construction to F10. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely happy with Cort, I wonder though how it stacks up next to this video’s main character. I wonder if anyone is ever going to shoot a comparison video of the two
I have the V10 DX for over one year now. It shipped with a few defects and now the master volume pot is making a dusty grinding noise that I can hear when plugged in. I paid $1,700. Not really worth that much.
Honestly this is quite tempting. But the single cut vibe is not doing it for me. A neck thru M series might do it. But i know I’ll end up buying a Soundgear anyway. So this is a nice distraction.
I try it... Just a m7 with 4.5kg... easy access, very good playability but pickups so powerless😢. Preamp of mine so bad compare to my v8... Not for me...
Kiesel has the Zeus which is similar in price to this if you don't get nuts on the customization. Some folks don't dig the headless design. It's definitely an acquired taste. I like my Zeus multistage 6 string but it is definitely a different style of playing with the fanned frets. Once you get familiar it plays fast. Outside of that I can't think of many single cuts. Ibanez makes the BTB865SC which is similar to this one.
Looks beautiful but it just does not sound good to me. It's all about the pickup locations for me. I have a 6 string and I moved the pickups and it sounds exactly like a mid 70s fender Jazz now. I wonder how it would go over if you showed up with that Sire in a studio if someone hired you for a project . They might hand you a P Bass and ask you to give that a shot. LOL
My Sire M7 is not perfect, but not far from it. It's my most used bass, it's a real workhorse. The only thing I changed are the switches. They started failing after a few months already.
@@marcdamania May I ask where you found this info since it isn't listed on the Sire site nor on any of the linked dealers' sites? Just eyeballing it in the video the 5 doesn't look quite that wide, seems closer to 18 but obviously one can't say for sure based on sight alone.
I love it, just don't like the body shape, it has not that modern design style that i love on singlecuts like this. Otherwise, it's killer for the price.
And you shouldn't. I have the V10 DX for one year now. It shipped with a few defects and now the master volume pot is making a dusty grinding noise that I can hear when plugged in. I paid $1,700. Not worth that much.
As someone who owns a 4, 5, and 6 bass the different between a 4 and 5 is minimal. I can switch between all 3 without issue but going from my Epiphone P bass to my Kiesel 6 is definitely noticable.
Supposedly the additional connection produces a different, more sustained and fuller sound and feel. Never played one myself though so only repeating the rationale that I've heard/read. Can't remember where or who now but I read or heard someone on a forum or in a video describe them as being a different kind of bass that you have to get used to when you first start playing one.
@@ShoesMagoo Yes, I can understand the reason behind it. People even hope for more sustain from a bigger headstock with a denser wood. This area is one of the points where facts are being mixed with snake oil. I would not argue against the pros of such a design (although I wonder how it affects the truss rod adjustment). I guess it reminds me a certain kind of player
Fodera usually sounds like crap. I would take a Spector anytime over a Fodera. And this is just a copy of the Cort A5 SCMS, without the multiscale design. Nothing to be excited about. Unless the people at Sire have to be very happy with the review

I need to come to Germany.
I preordered mine almost 7 months ago and can't wait to get my hands on it. Great overview as always. Much love from Arkansas, USA
I am from Arkansas too.
Watching this now and want my Yamaha Nathan East to have a friend.
Iv a v7 v10dx and I'm seriously impressed by how good this sounds!
Thanks for making this video! I'm awaiting one in January!

It's very reminiscent of Anthony Jackson's original Fodera Contrabass, though with a more flexible pickup and control layout...
🤔
Looks like Sire has really stepped up their game!
Can't wait to get my hands on this!!! It reminds me of Terrance Palmer's Pavel bass from the early 00's!!
Super cool stuff ❤❤

He's been great as the Baron of the Harkonnen staring in the movie Dune

Does the Cort have a real passive mode? The last Cort I owned only had EQ on or off, so.if the battery died, so did the bass.

I can't understand they are not making the 4 strings version... For now, only 5 & 6 strings.
Almost no single-cut 4 strings in the world, except custom.

This is close to Sandbergs five string basses. Just not logical to choose Sire at this price point.
Apples to apples, price me out a Sandberg with same specs.
This is a fodera style bass, for people who can't afford a mortgage for a bass.

Aside from NAMM I don't think I've ever seen Marcus play a Sire. If they were that great you'd think he'd use them.
in many videos you can find him playing Sire.
on stage, he plays a v7 in natural/swamp ash/maple fingerboard
he plays them all the time live you just have to look
Saw him last week. Still played a fretless V7 5 string. Along with a 77 Fender, of course.
Yeah, it’s like how Les Paul played an ESP Eclipse in the last decade of his life.

I particularly detest this bass design, where a slab of wood was left uncarved to form the upper horn.
