This is a really good avenue for content. Sometimes it feels like you're taking time from their day in street interviews, but here, you're helping them in their language and making their experience their more fun. Smart idea Wouter, more of this!
I love these videos. Sometimes I cringe a bit though haha Perhaps Wouter needs to chill out haha and try to come up with different phrases other than “I like to learn different languages”
Well he's got a talent if he can learn to understand and converse in so many languages, but he looks a bit too much like an enthusiast wanting to show off hiss language skills. That doesn't always come across nice but irritating. I envy his talent anyways.
3:39 "Kamu juga mengerti?" It doesn't sound right bcs it means "do you also understand?" Instead, you can say : "Apakah kamu mengerti?" "Bisakah kamu mengerti?" Or if you want to make it casual, you can say : "Apa kamu ngerti?" 3:41 "kamu dari di mana?" You don't need to use "di" because "di" = at. So just say "kamu dari mana?" I heard you say "itu bagus sekali" so often. As for the alternatives, you can say: "Keren" (cool) "Hebat" (great) And also we rarely say "itu" as a response. So instead of saying "itu bagus sekali" we would only say "bagus". I like the concept of your video btw👍
You have been for many many years an impressive talent but I see recently how much you are polishing up your skills and adding new languages and you are slowly becoming a true master at this. Just one small example is how much your Chinese improved as of recent, amazing, keep it up
Really enjoying these temporary worker series videos. Wish I had the inspiration of YT polyglots when I was forced to learn languages at school, didn’t learn anything and now live abroad. My kids are being inspired by these vids to see how incredible it is to be able to communicate in multiple languages.
Just discovered your channel. I think it’s absolutely incredible that you have the capacity to speak so many languages, a very small percentage of people have that gift. Huge respect! I subbed.
Amazing video as usual. I love the smiles you put on people's faces. The collabs with restaurants and shops are great. Keep them coming please. At times you neglect your appearance but it has it's importance too. Your swag was great in this one. See you in the next video. Congratulations on all the progress Wouter. 👏👏👏
Man I am always in awe of polyglots. I've been trying to learn Japanese for a long time but have not been able to commit to it. Your videos FOMOing so hard. I'll resume from today.
I'm Brazilian and I speak a few languages too, Spanish, Portuguese, English, some french and Italian and japanese. This guy mesmerizes me Everytime I see him. His Portuguese of course is not perfect, like my japanese isn't either. What matter is that we can hold a conversation and interact to each other
Sir you have a gift that I envy a lot. But to be honest if I had that gift I would invest more in learning fewer languages in a very professional way rather than learning 40 languages in a mediocre way. Also from my experience not everyone appreciates when somene tries to force the language on him! Respect regardless!
OMG my youtube poped up your video and i amazed that how fluency in many languages that you speak. At first i looked for Vietnamese in your videos but haven’t seen until my finger suddenly touched to this video and WTF ? Is he just saying Học ở Việt Nam ? 👏👏👏
Get some gujarati friends too bro. In the region of Gujarat there are nearly 50 language. Loved u are keeping the unity alive . ❤️🙏 Superb Content . I'm currently learning arabic...
As someone who speaks Afrikaans as well (as a second language), I understand nearly everything you say in Dutch. As iemand wat kan ook Afrikaans praat (as 'n tweede taal), ek verstaan meerste wat jy in Nederlands sê.
Believe me, there are polyglots with way higher levels than me. I have a basic level in most languages which I speak. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I just want to be honest.
Is he actually correctly guessing native languages by accent and appearance? Pretty impressive maybe a bit unusual but a unique skill if it’s not just editing
@@WouterCorduwener sure it is. There is nothing refreshing than a nice cup of tea. Being an Indian, I know that very well. My favourite line from your conversation is- mera hindustani tota hindi bolta hai.
I feel like it doesn't help anybody if you speak with people in a language that is not their native language but merely something they have some basic knowledge in. You can see how confused they are and how they don't really understand much, it comes off as showing off. Speaking to someone in their native language however just makes so much more sense because they will always understand and be happy to practice with you.
@@alcazar123456 because people usually don't want to practice a language they once learned years ago in school. And if someone speaks with them in a fast manner and they struggle to understand it might come off as rude or showing off how much better they are. Even though they don't mean it that way.
@@frankwaechter8676 If people don’t want to they can simply say that they don’t remember much or just politely decline. Nothing wrong with trying. Many people appreciate getting to converse in their home languages, as so many of Wouter’s other videos attest to.
@@alcazar123456 you said "home languages" and I said yes it makes sense to practice with native speakers. But Wouters mistake is that he tries to squeeze out as many languages out of people as possible which leads to these uncomfortable situations where he tries to talk with them in a language they have learned and they don't understand much.
Excellent video! One correction: Mi piacciono molte lingue diverse(/differenti) In Italian and Spanish, (Italian:) piace/piacciono and (Spanish): gusta/gustan agree with the the noun following the verb (Italian): piacere/(Spanish): gustar So, “Mi piacciono le lingue” but “Mi piace questa lingua”

for real. I feel like he just memorizes 4 phrases and doesn't actually talk with people about anything different
@@tmass1 True, he knows some basic lines, maybe he catches some key words but that's it.
For example, his french sucks.
I watch it mostly for the cringe now! But it's great
