You know it's amazing. We all came into this season saying JJ McCarthy was going to sit back and watch Sam Darnold and learn. Most of you saw this as a throw-a-way season. Sam Darnold got hot at the beginning of the year, and everyone was singing his praises. Now that he has had a couple of bad games, some of you are looking to trash him. It was always going to be the defense that won games for the Vikes this season. Sam was supposed to manage the game and help JJ get ready to start. The VIKINGS are 7-2, a mu h better record than most of you imagined we'd have after nine games. Sam will make mistakes. He just can't make the game losing mistakes. I'm not saying he doesn't have to play better. He most certainly does need to pick up his game, but I feel more comfortable with Sam than I do with any other QB on the team. SKOL VIKINGS
Before the season started Tom Brady said, that if a team with a good record loss their QB mid season that he would consider coming out of retirement. I’d rather call him than Tannehill.
The team is 7-2. Of their losses, the only one that shouldn't have happened is to the Rams; there's certainly no shame in losing to the Lions, especially when it's only by 2 points. I'm certainly not ready to write the Vikings (or Darnold) off. Looking at last week, Darnold had no trouble moving the ball, and one of his interceptions, the deflection off Jefferson, wasn't his fault; any time you get the ball to the receiver's hands and they don't make the catch, you've still done your job as QB. We'll have to see what happens going forward, but so far the good has far outweighed the bad with Darnold. And when you consider that his main mistake has been trying to force ill-advised passes to Jefferson, all that needs to happen for him to be "fixed" is for him to stop doing that and go to his other options. Because, and I can't stress this enough: if accuracy isn't the problem, and arm strength isn't the problem, everything else can be fixed.

Darnold has had ups and downs but pulling in tannehill in a knee jerk reaction mid season when he doesn’t know the offense just isn’t the answer. Darnold has shown he can get it done. Let’s hope he goes on a hot streak late in the season and hopefully playoffs
No. If anyone plays QB instead of Darnold it should be Mullens, he already knows the Offense, probably better than Darnold does. The Defense is good enough to cover Mullens gunslinger mindset and dude can straight up sling it to whoever was catching passes last year, imagine with a full compliment. I'm still riding with Darnold but Mullens is the next best option period!
Unless you think that RT gets you to the Superbowl, which I very much doubt, the team needs to ride and die with Darnold. Kind of ridiculous that after the first 5 weeks and there was rumblings of Darnold being in the running for league MVP and now people are floating the idea that he be replaced by RT? I guess some fans think that a QB has to go through an entire 17 game season and never have a slump? I do however think that a rational fan would agree that the next 9 games and the playoffs will go a long way into determining if Darnold will get a long term contract or will be a journeyman backup for the rest of his career!
I think we also have to remember that Sam Darnolds turnover count shouldn’t be as high as it is. I mean the Xavier McKinney "int", the colts "clothes line to the head" fumble, the jags really only had 2 legitimate interceptions one was a drop. He’s kinda been robbed a few times too.
Who do them have losing to for a 13 - 4 record? You’ve said you think they win the next 5 to be 12 - 2 going in to the last 3 against Seattle , GB, Detroit. So you think they’re going go 1 - 2 over the last 3 games? Doubtful. If they win the next 5, they’re ending the season 14 - 3 at the worst
It doesn't matter how many yards you put up in drives if you can't finish, or panic in the red zone, or hold the ball too long. His decision making is very poor. He either learns or he'll need to be pulled.
Darnold was fine in the first half of the season. Teams changed their coverage and he kept forcing the ball to JJ. He has to stop that and get back to how he started.
Darnold threw 2 ints last week, not 3. The refs blew one of them. Think it was the Rams' game that the refs missed the face mask call, and in one of the last three games they blew another call. Darnold will be fine if that O-line picks up their game, O'Connell stops trying to force it to JJ all the time and the refs pull their heads out of their _ _ _ _ _ . *Refs have been terrible in a lot of games, not just games involving the Vikings.*

Call the Steelers, and get Justin Fields. He’s definitely an upgrade over Darnold, and can be signed to a one year deal for under 10 million for 2025. He’s a freebie for the rest of this season. He’d thrive under KOC!!!
