The new one looks Urgly. I have 2017 one, apart from the side mesh pockets , are very good .
First of all, good review, thank you. I have the 20-liter daylite plus from 2019 and I don't like that the new plus version is bigger (46x26x24 vs 48x28x24 cm, I'm a short girl and it shows a lot, it looks ugly and a bit more uncomfortable because of the size ...), so I will surely buy the normal 13-liter daylite from 2021 even though it doesn't have a padded pocket for the laptop, I don't see it as important either, just so that it doesn't get damaged by the contact of other objects, then I'll put a cover on the laptop or put it in organizers to the rest of the objects and problem solved. It has one less pocket and does not have padding for the laptop, but of course the aesthetics are better. 😀
Thanks for the review. I am gonna get one of these to do my Upper Yosemite Falls hike coming up. Love my Rook 65 which I Just used it to hike into the Yosemite backcountry and it was great! Happy Trails!
Thanks! Have a great trip!
Love this bag… great video
Any suggestion for a smaller sized backpack?
Did they update the side pockets at all? I've a friend who gets frustrated with them not holding a water bottle very well....
The mesh is thicker and the elastic a bit more distributed. Works best when the pack is a little full.
The pockets seem to be a bit taller as well. I can speak to the frustration of their previous models. A company specializing in hiking packs should have known better.
Yea they are larger.
Your friend isn't smart because he bought a pack that has side pockets that were never described as water bottle pockets by the company. It is a pack designed to be used with a bladder.
It's only on this year's model they enlarged the size of the side pockets and started stating they could be used to hold water bottles.
Thanks for review. Is this backpack unconfortable on back or shoulders?
It's pretty comfortable especially since it's a light carry bag.
An amazing backpack for sure. Whatever happened to the evergreen color though!
Practical. Thanks!
Great summary!
Thanks!
I am wondering exactly how wide the laptop sleeve is? Could it fit a macbook 14"?
It's about 27cm / 10.5 inches across with some stretch but wouldn't fit a 14 inch Macbook.
@@foXnoMad ok, thanks for the info, I guess I will get the bigger model :)
Happy to help!
you think this would be good as a personal item on a flight?
In terms of size? Yes, not too big, not too small.
@@foXnoMad was curious because i wanted to carry all my camera gear inside in an insert. hoping it works XD
Just keep in mind the bag doesn't have a lot of padding. Be more careful when putting your bag down on the ground. Good luck!
@@foXnoMad oh ill be adding a ton of padding to it lmao. probably use some clothing too like a big sweater around the padded bag
tyvm
What is the use of the red
Which red?
Wish they would have kept the 2 mesh pockets in the front compartment instead of slip sleeves
They are a little more cumbersome to get small things (like coins) out of definitely. Doesn't give quite as well as the mesh.
@@foXnoMad yes, I find the mesh pockets stretch some and hold items snug
Thanks for the review. What camera did you use for this video? The quality and focusing is impressive.
Thanks! Here's the camera I used: th-cam.com/video/lADW3mO90_k/w-d-xo.html
And all the gear I'm currently using: foxnomad.com/about/tech-gear-and-gadgets-i-travel-with/
@@foXnoMad Neat stuff man!
Is it still compatible with the Farpoint Trek 55? Thanks in advance
I haven't tried it but looking at the latches, it looks like it should.
They state on their website it is.
@@bena3341 It's working. I bought the daypack a few weeks ago. It's essential for me as I am traveling through Asia and America the next three years ;)
Dose 15” laptop fits in that laptop pocket? Thanks.
Maybe not in the pocket, it could be tight but in the bag for sure.
@@foXnoMad thanks for the reply. Could i please suggest a best osprey bag for day to day office use and outdoor.
My requirement is like 15” laptop, two pair of dress and charges etc.. if possible pair of sneakers.. thanks in advance
Actually the Aer Travel Pack 2 or smaller city versions might work well. Let me know what you think. I've got reviews up on the channel 🙂
@@foXnoMad I got Osprey Apogee and it fits my laptop and two days cloths easily. Thank You!💐
Is it waterproof?
No, it's not completely waterproof. Water-resistant, yes.
I bought this backpack for women but I can't reach the water bottles while hiking. I need a friend to grab it or I have to take the pack off. Anyone else have this issue?
I've noticed this as well but if you loosen the straps you can kind of swing it around easily in most cases to get to bottles.
zipper is really sucks
