This is a awesome video. I need to know what seals go on the rod end though. I am rebuilding this cylinder and I don't trust that all the seals where put back in it the last time it was rebuilt. I have the felt, bearing and the beveled seal. The beveled seal seems loose and makes me think there was a backup seal in with it. The failure is that it blows oil out of the breather hole.
My dad is looking for where to buy the cylinder seal kit his mower is old and doesn't have a model number on it so we aren't 100% about it but he knows it is a kyhn. Any idea where to get the kit?
Thanks for making this video it truly truly helped
👊😁👍
That is a good attitude to have. It was a $110 lesson and not a $110 mistake.
That was a nice trick using the tie straps
Thanks Lloyd. Seems to work pretty good :)

I haven't done that job before so I'll pay attention for sure if I do. Mistakes oh ya I've had to learn with my wallet too. LOL
LOL, the mistakes that cost money are the ones you learn from the most ;)
Asked and answered. I can actually see there is a O-ring on the oil side of the beveled seal that I am missing.
Looks like you will be up and running.
Yep, worked like a charm :)
Dang don't ya just hate those 110 dollar mistakes. Things like this video will so save others ha :)
Yep, that's why I show my mistakes. I only wished that was the most expensive mistake I've made over the years ;)
haha i hear ya on that one.
Mistakes are ok if you learn from them.
Haha, right :)

I got mine at a local Kuhn dealer. If his doesn't have a model tag, his best bet is to find a hydraulic repair shop and let them fix it.
The seal you forgot, what direction does it go?
Are you talking about the blue seal at 5:34?
You might have wasted money on the first kit but look at the money you saved on someone else's labor.
Thanks Joe. I priced the entire cylinder at over $500 so a couple hundred in seals isn't too bad ;)
There you go. Plus if you weren't handy you'd have to pay for installation.
