A lot of people hate on the new series but such is the thing when the previous doctor regenerates because they don't know how the next doctor will be like but one thing they can't hate on for the most part is the soundtrack in series 11. This one piece is stunningly beautiful
I love the Jodie Whittaker era and I have series 11 and 12 on US dvd, and the music is another thing entirely. I loved it as soon as I heard it. This piece is exceptional, haunting, beautiful and epic. I have the soundtrack on cd
Because now the TARDIS has more windows from the inside! From the outside she has the same amount of windows as she had all the time, but now the blue box from the interior view is slapped outside of the inner space/dimension. So you can see the side windows (and through them) as opposed to previous series, where there was only the front door from the interior. More windows = more outside stuff to see. Also the windows are now clearer.
So what I’ve realized here is that Segun Akinola actually has used Thirteen’s theme throughout the series. It’s just that unlike Murray Gold, he composes music for every episode individually and incorporates it into the tone and genre for the mix. He’s not as showy as Murray Gold but damn this guy goes all in on this soundtrack. As impressive as Murray Gold’s orchestrations were, Akinola arguably puts in more effort on an episode-by-episode basis.
It's so great to see somebody on the same page! I loved Gold, but I always rolled my eyes whenever I heard the exact same rendition of a respective Doctor's theme play every time the character so much as sneezed. 😂
@@fionasconstellation5372 But do you not think most of the themes are ambient noises? Like... it's good for a background theme but there's hardly any memorable ones. Does anyone else agree? I really like this theme and all of the ones relating to 13 but... Come on most of them are just sleep inducing.

To be fair, a lot of times when Murray Gold's music was repeated, it wasn't his fault. The producers and editors would move around and reuse tracks, likely because they grew attatched to it when it was being used as temporary filler music. You can see this in the Day of the Doctor: while in the actual episode roughly 40% of the music is reused from previous episodes, the OST contains many more original tracks meant to be originally included in those scenes.
Definitely is a more sci-fi element to Akinola's compositions than Gold's. Would like to hear him do a couple arrangements of Gold's music though. I mean, Gold may be gone, but the music is owned by BBC, so they could still use it.
If you like this piece, check out Wallowa Lake Monster by Sufjan Stevens. It starts out sounding different but once you hit the middle it sounds SO MUCH like this!!
I dont really know what to make of the series I enjoyed It but I dident think It was as good as Steven Moffats work thats for sure, Chibnall just needs to work on his story arcs and script writing a bit more
Not the biggest fan of ambient music for Doctor Who, I think it much better suits an orchestra. But, this theme is great. I like to think it's the definitive TARDIS theme. After all, the TARDIS is a character and deserves its own theme.

One of the best moments of the Thirteenth Doctor honestly. Her reuniting with the TARDIS, you really see how much they mean to each other.
Anyone else notice that in series 11, you could see the time vortex through the TARDIS windows? It's very faint, but it's there.
