Thank you! I have learned so much from you. I have an 11 year old son, so it's nice to find someone that only has one. I LOVE ❤ your videos. Can't get enough!!!

You are a pro! You should write a curriculum and publish it one day.

Asking what do you want to know is a great way to frame a unit study. Good idea!!

I love watching your videos! I also only homeschool my own child. He's 7 and not always interested in doing school work. I think I'm going to create my own unit studies this next year to better fit his interests. We have done others but they go on for far too long. Any tips for creating a fun and exciting environment for a single child would be great. All I ever find is multiple children homeschool mommas so some things just don't translate the same. I think I've actually looked at it as a hindrance only having one kiddo when really it could be a blessing ( I mean for homeschool) Of course my son is the best gift from God and a blessing 🙌🙏 thank you for your time and content!

@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife I have two we are homeschooling and found the homeschooling an only child video helpful. Most days I feel like I'm homeschooling two only children bc one is very down with school (5yo) and the other is very uninterested (7yo).

This was a great video to watch to get my brain ready to plan our school year! Thank you for sharing. In the video you mentioned a video about using Google classroom. Can you share the link for that?

I’m very intrigued by unit studies and I just created my own for fall. But after watching this, I have to ask....how do you know you’re doing enough? It seems you have lots of fun activities and resources, but how do you add the “meat”?....language arts, social studies, etc? Especially for my 7th grader, I’m worried he’s not doing 7th grade level work. My kids may be going back to public school and I feel the need to keep them up to date with their peers. Am I just overthinking it??? Are unit studies ok to do all year or just here and there to mix it up? So many questions.....😣

I had these same concerns when I started homeschooling too. I was a public school teacher for 13 years, so I was so used to following standards set by someone else. The one thing I have learned over this past year is that the only person that can answer the is it enough question is you. You have decide what you want for your homeschool. I understand you are worried because they may go back to public school.
In our home, we have a math and language arts program. This Survival unit study has Science, History, and Geography woven into it. We are covering all the subjects daily. This study will only last 4-5 weeks and we will move on to another unit study. We like using Gather Round Homeschool for our other unit studies.
I like to keep unit studies fun because children learn more when it’s enjoyable for them. Let me know if I can help you in any other way. I know you are doing a great job!
