Why are you asking toyota? You don’t think they want to? You gotta beg the policy makers of this country. They’re the ones that make the laws that’ll determine whether these can be imported or not
Thank all the regulatory agencies in the U.S. for us not being able to have vehicles like this. Yet Jeep’s are somehow able to be sold to any simp foolish enough to buy them. 🤷🏼♂️
YOU SEE!! Look at these comments Big Auto manufacturers! I we want is this exact kind of product. Basic basic truck. It has AC and a radio. What more could you ask for besides cruise control. If this was available in the US Toyota wouldn’t be able to keep up.
Lobbyist made small trucks illegal in the U.S. This truck would cost 10,000 brand new in the U.S. if they were allowed to import it. "The fat electrician" has an entire video dedicated to it. Edit: I was referring to the Toyota Hilux Champ.

This is how to sell to people born in the 80's and 90's ! WOW , I want to see more trucks coming out like this in the next 10 YR !! LOVE THE DESIGN, honestly want to see the 2 seater of this,
Don’t get me wrong I can’t afford it at this price and wish things were cheaper but a keep gladiator is probably a similar price and I would rather have a Land Cruiser by far
Not now with the dual turbo V-6. Tacoma's having big issues also. Me and my two friends bought 1985 Toyota Hilux's. All three ate 2.5 qts of oil every 3K oil change. After doing oil consumption tests to confirm the abysmal consumption they concluded that it was "within specs". Huh?
Reminds me of my Isuzu Trooper that I bought new here in the US in 1986. It was cheap and wonderful. I think it was around $6500 which is $18k in 2023 dollars. You see what they're doing to us in the US? Bleeding us dry.
Yep I bought an 86 too. I loved it and did many off road trips with it and it was boss in snow in the Sierra. I eventually sold to a woman who drove it to Guatemala. I replaced it with an 86 FJ60 Landcruiser! I am driving a 91 FJ80 here in Baja right now and it is my favorite ride ever, the coil springs give a fantastic ride, absolutely the best for Baja dirt roads.
I have a 1988 Toyota pick up daily driver for 23 years now. 2.4 re Motor four-speed automatic single cab long bed. A simple thing like putting gas in it And I have offers to buy it one offer was $5000 and was very persistent.. no way I’ll sell it
I just bought a 2024 Tundra Crewmax. If this was an option in the US, I would have chosen this with the 5sp manual, manual 4wd shifter, etc. The only thing that could make it better is if they would source pre-DOD 5.3LS engines to put in them. I appreciate the Toyota power...but lets be real. The 5.3L is no reliability slouch and way more power for the fuel mileage.
I love these simpler more classic looking trucks. It is so much nicer. I love the manual transmission, key ignition, etc! Don’t want all that useless electronic garbage that just breaks later. I don’t need a big blown out body with cheap plastic or super thin metal either.
I would love for something like this here. My base toyota echo 5 speed manual is over 300k and runs top. I would totally buy a new one exactly like it. Nothing to go wrong.

Im sure you get this question a lot....Can you import to USA? We are in Massachusetts. Amazing car!
