So I'm not the only one who noticed that also in the show nightmare Moon is bigger than Luna so it would make sense that for the human versions nightmare Moon would be more... physically mature
I mean, it would be racist to not make ZECORA black given she's literally from Africa. But Luna? There's no evidence that she's African. She's not voiced by an African person, she's the sister of the literal whitest character in the show, etc. If someone wants to make her black that's an awesome interpretation; but it's not RACIST to make her white. In fact, given how Nightmare Moon looks you could argue that if Luna is meant to be black, Nightmare then becomes a racist caricature. That shade of black on African people is usually associated with racism. The sheer fact that Luna gets DARKER when she's evil could be considered racist, as it forms a correlation between dark skin and evil. Which I'm guessing is exactly why in Equestria Girls, they just made them have the same skin tones as their fur colours (well that and toy sales). They are very intentionally keeping race OUT of the equation.
