My old fiberglass pen from Radio Shack (back when it existed in Canada), is starting to wear down to nothing. I'm gonna have to grab a set of these soon. Thanks!
Definitely down to the task at hand - the conventional wisdom is to replace corroded surfaces - but if that's the case, it's already useless, why not try to fix it, can't make it any worse!
On the contrary, you should throw these away as soon as possible. That fiberglass pen leaves behind all these little pieces of fiberglass. Something you really don't want to get in your lungs
Super handy for cleaning up after a battery leak. I always liked the brass ones to prep for soldering.

Nice! That steel one would be good for removing the last bit of paint to make good chassis ground connections.
Ooh very nice. Know the glass type but haven't seen the rest.
I keep forgetting I have a set of these, until after I need them.
Do these work to remove soldermask over traces for example? The dremel is always a bit brutal :P
Should do that just fine!
@@SimpleElectronics good to know, cheers :)
Had some experienced electronic techs tell me to NOT use such things; Personally feel it's all down the task at hand.
