    Hello. Thank you for the video. I purchased these exact tubes with the ring attached at the top. I tried several different pliers but could not get the middle section to crimp down. I tried another piece and had the same problem. The directions are not difficult, what could possibly be wrong? Thank you, josi. Ps-I bought the crimp ends about 3 years ago

      Hello! It's possible that the beading wire is too small for the crimp tube. If that is the case, then the beading wire may slip out. You also want to make sure that your chain nose pliers are narrow enough to just crimp the center section of the crimp tube. If they are too wide they may catch the outer edge of the tube and you wont get a secure crimp in the middle. These are just a couple suggestions without knowing exactly what supplies you are working with, but hopefully this helps!

    I see a bit of the wire still poking through at the loop. Is this typical? I normally use wire guards with crimp tubes to make loop, but don't like to see the wire through the guard. Thinking this might be a nicer option. Does this hold as well as a looped wire with crimp?

      Yes, it's typical. Crimping at the very end of the wire isn't suggested. It does hold well, but we wouldn't suggest using these with a heavier piece of jewelry such as gemstones.

    Thank you for the great video. Very helpful. Could I please ask your advice ? Which size crimp tube with loop I should use for 49 strand 0.14 size wire to make a gemstone bracelet?

      I am so happy to hear you enjoyed our video! We recommend using a crimp tube with loop that has a 0.5 - 1mm inside diameter. Our crimp tubes with loop can be viewed here: bit.ly/2cO5CYN. The inside diameter will be listed within the product descriptions. I hope this helps! ~ Jenn

      Thank you so much. This is huge help. What is the best tool to use for this size crimp tube ? Is chain nose plier the same as a crimp tool ?

      We would recommend chain nose pliers, as they are tapered and allow an even amount of pressure to close the crimp. Crimping tools are different, and they are typically used more with crimp tubes and similar items. You can view the pliers we have available here: bit.ly/2da52p7. Have a great evening! :) - Deanna

    My crimp tube w/ loop eventually keeps breaking. Do I have bad crimp tubes? What could be the issue?

      Hi Naomi. There are a number of reasons why a crimp tube might be breaking. Good crimping technique makes all the difference. If you overwork the crimp, the metal fatigues and will break. So be careful about that too.

      And these will work and hold fast on single strand .019 or .024 single strand beading wire?
      I am new to all this and I hate crimping. And I hate the look of just leaving the wires exposed. I'm looking into either these or clam shell bead tips. What is your advice? TIA

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could depend on the wire, but in most cases, yes, it would hold both of those diameters of beading wire. For those two sizes, a great option would be our Accu-Flex beading wire. For .019 and .024 diameters, we carry 7, 21, and 49 strand. Here is a link to Accu-Flex: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/accu_flex
      Another option if you use standard crimps would be to use crimp covers. These would cover up the crimp and leave a nice clean finish. Here is a link to our crimp covers: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/crimp_bead_covers
      Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let us know; we would love to help! @@OHSloopyIO

      Thank you. I will try these. I have used standard crimps and crimp covers. Maybe it's just me but I hate the look of the exposed wire when you use a standard crimp and cover. I like these and clamshells because you can connect them straight to the jump ring and there is no exposed wire. I'm just concerned with them holding up.
