Silicon is normally considered a filler but I use it for glazing, which is really gluing glass to wood or metal. I use the contact glue where a rubber-like adhesion is important such as material-to-wood, for example splinter guards on track saws or non-slip materials under wood..Finally there are several tape adhesives which I'm sure you have reserved for a separate video.

Just to point out, it sounded like it is possible to vary the set up and cure time of epoxy by changing the ratio of hardener to resin. It's not. The resin to hardener ratio is written on the bottle of hardener usually, and the mix has to be precise or it will never cure properly. The other tip is that they can be mixed by volume, or by weight. So by volume here, you had a 1:1 and a 2:1 type epoxy. But with the 2:1 epoxy in the bottles, the ratio by weight will be slightly different, and this has to be followed carefully to get it to set up properly and get full strength.
Absolutely excellent video. I would suggest you upscale it to 4K or pay this guy whatever he wants to reshoot it in 4K, maybe throwing in some shots with a magnifier lense of the glue settling into the wood. I guess you could give him some glue as payment; he seems particularly fond of two-part epoxy.
When you used the epoxy you used a spoon for measuring the 2:1 ratio. Does the spoon now become a throw away, or is there a solvent you can use to clean it up? TY
I am curious as to why you didn’t include the best wood glue of all, used on airplanes and boats, resorcinol’s. It would be interesting to see how they compare in particular for outdoor projects where the high resistance to both water and UV becomes important.
Hi which one can I use to glue the ping pong racket with the rubber, be advised that I am changing it every 6 month I want to keep the racket and the rubber without damage . Thank you
When using a damp rag to wipe off glue squeeze out doesn't that push the glue into the pores or grain of the wood. And then when you apply stain to the peace won't that cause uneven staying penetration.
I'm sorry but Tightbond III should not be used for exterior projects. I know it says it's waterproof, but it is not. Please look at other youtube channels that have done tests. And in my own tests on Tightbond III it's failed when wet. Dap Plastic Resin Glue or Epoxies should be used.
For larger cracks he was showing for CA glue, I put baking soda in the crack and then add CA glue. Fills the crack and makes for a hard joint,etc.

What about the powdered epoxy glue that you mix with... some liquid? water? People dye it, I think?
