He's a sympathetic character at times - but it's entirely reasonable to see that he is overtly morally corrupt, and that is ultimately a choice HE made. Sure, society led him there. But he chose extreme immorality and thus, cowardice. That's why I find it difficult to ever empathize with the Joker.

@Frw0ge well a movie can be good at some things but bad at other things. Here when he says "conceptually good", I think he means that the concept and the many moral lessons of the movies are great but he maybe didn't enjoy other things about the movie such as the cinematography or the pace of the story. These are random examples but it's just to showcase that people can agree on the general idea of something but dislike how this idea is brought out. Hope I made sens here
