- Toyota Celica GT-Four Group A (Pure Sound) Tribute World Rally Championship (WRC) ST165 won 13 WRC series. Carlos Sainz won the 1990 WRC Driver's Title in Rally / Rali /Rallye
ST185 won 16 full WRC series, and 3 overall winner in the W2L series. WRC Driver's Titles with Carlos Sainz in 1992, Juha Kankkunen in 1993, and Didier Auriol in 1994. WRC Manufacturer's Titles in 1993 and 1994.
ST205 won 1 full WRC series, and 2 overall winner in the W2L series.
1989年に、TTEへ移籍。トヨタ・セリカST-165を駆るサインツは序盤リタイアを重ねるものの、随所に光る走りを見せ、終盤3戦で連続表彰台を獲得した。
1990年は開幕から好調で、アクロポリスで初優勝を成し遂げ、サンレモで3位に入り、デビュー4年目にして初の世界チャンピオンに輝いた（日本車に乗った初のWRCチャンピオンでもある）。この年挙げた4勝のうち、1000湖ラリーでは「北欧出身ドライバーでなければ勝てない」というジンクスを破って優勝した。
1991年は5勝をするものの、ランチアのユハ・カンクネンに敗れランキング2位。1992年には新型マシンセリカST-185が登場する。セッティング幅を持たせる目的で投入したサスアームの取り付け角を調整出来るサスペンションが仇となり序盤は苦戦するも、通常のサスペンションに変更した中盤以降は熟成も進み、ランチアのオリオールとの熾烈な争いの末、最終戦のRACラリーで2度目のタイトルを獲得した。
チームやトヨタ首脳陣とも良好な関係を築き、彼のタイトルを記念して、ST-185をベースに”カルロス・サインツエディション”という特別限定車も発売され、共に栄光を分かち合ったトヨタとのパートナーシップは翌年も続くように思われた。しかし、TTEは1993年以降イギリスの石油会社カストロールのスポンサードを受けることになり、サインツは個人スポンサーのレプソル（スペインの石油会社）とのバッティングを避けるためにTTEを離れることになる。 カンピオナートムンドラリー2016

I own a 1993 Toyota Celica ST with the manual transmission. I feel like a drive a rally car every time i dive it down a country road.
I just got one myself and it's much better that I expected. Such a fun and good looking car!

GroupA might not be as strong and wild as GroupB but they still were fantastic rally cars!
It gave us hope too. As group B cars for legal road use like the T16 and the RS200 were very rare, not to mention ridiculously expensive. The speed and spectacle of A might be inferior to B, but the cars you see Kankkunen, McRae and Sainz whipping around hairpins were within reach. Or at least less unreachable than the upper mentioned.
I find Group A much more fascinating. Yea Group B was cool as hell but theres something about seeing production cars that can sit in your driveway flying across the stages with asbolute madmen behind the wheel...
Back when the cars on the stage LOOKED like the car you could buy at you local dealership.

Castrol livery car with Auriol and Kankkunen was more superior. It won back to back drivers and manufacturers championship in 93 and 94. Its one of the prettiest rally cars of all time.

日本で販売された1800台は、海外で販売されたc.s.edition. のエンジン用コンピュータとエンジン補器類等は圧縮比率を変えて特別なのでしょうか？
日本のセリカst185rcは、圧縮比を低くして全ての補器類は低圧縮比に合わせてありました。圧縮比が低いために車両を曲げる時にトルクが足らず、後輪がフニャフニャで曲がることをしながら加速が出来ません。後輪が全車体重量を加えられる事を想定していないためにトラクションがかかりません。
日本から海外に販売されたc.s.edition.には改良があるのでしょうか？
海外の人が運転するc.s.edition.は後輪のトラクションが非常に良い風に見えます。どうしてでしょう？
