How I WISH judges in swf were like him who has a deep understanding of the dance scene and knows the culture behind each and every dancer on that show. Sad the judges were only for clout(which tbh they didn't actually bring because the dancers brought all the views because of their talent and natural charisma and comedy)

Agreed. HoneyJ has a distinct style, which you can see when watching any Kpop khiphop video. There's a fluidity to her moves that keeps getting copied. Hopefully the fans recognize her influence more, now that the show is over.
She's one of the pillars on Jay Parks choreographies. He even bring her on his concerts and i was delighted to see them perform in Madrid before. I was glued at Honey J and Bang Holy's synchronization.Jay only brought 2 male and female dancers but their energy was great.

I agree soo much, every performance got me speechless but no real appreciation for the technique, the power, intricacy of the dance was really made! Someone like J Black who is a incredible dancer himself can appreciate that, but even tought he was a judge for Hit the Stage they put him alongside celeb for cloud and that bothers me a lot, even though it had a better prod.
Me either, but as far as I know he was commenting on the fact that Lip J was obviously the winner in that battle against Rozalin by landslide 'cause the latter has no groove and sense of musicality. Also, he pointed out that it was pretty clear who the teacher and student was.

No offense but producers only brought in Boa and Taeyong for views. They never expected this show to be a big hit. They can't bring in professional dancers like j black in since there's only selected audience who can relate. I hope if they will do a season 2, they'll consider hiring more competent judges.
I do agree with all the opinion about the judges of the show. But maybe this is my unpopular opinion, the show itself not to judge the dancer or the dancer, because they are all well known dancer. But the objective of the show is to bring dance and dancer popularity. They used to be behind all the singers, but this time, they take the front spot. That's why they choose the celebrity judges not the professional dancer. Because all the participant already a professional dancer.
I think bringing in celebrity judges was fine, it was fine until the judges' experiences & dance knowledge became apparent that it was not at par with the tons of experiences these professional dancers have...
Uhh that really isn’t an unpopular opinion. Also, we want better judges because this affects our viewer satisfaction too. I literally skipped most of the judging portions because I didn’t want to hear their uniformed comments. It would have been a much more enjoyable programme if there was an “expert” who could educate viewers on dance culture and for objectivity’s sake.

Sorry to say this to y’all but J-black is one of the most overrated dancer in korea. He knows a lot in dancing and if we’re talking about being a judge he is qualified but the thing is that he’s not really that great on how the public and media portray him. Not hating him or whatsoever cuz this man really is a great dancer and he’s been a dancer since then so he have a great experience but the thing is many dancer out there knows it specially those who used to be a street dancer in the past. It just that it’s just something like a respect to him, since he’s been in this industry quite some time. I think him being overrated is that he appeared in a lot of shows, they even naming him one of the greatest street dancer and stuff but for real there are a lot more much better than him. I’m also against on how they pick judges in the show like wtf, they’re performer yes but not on the level of being a judge but i also don’t think j-black deserve a spot there. Those dancers on the show have shown what they’re capable of locally and internationally at least bring someone who is at least at their level.
That's media though.. Korea produced a lot of great dancers but he's one of the vets now and dancer's evolve in time. I agree that there are many dancers who are greater than him but with in terms of hiphop style.. He's one of the best and also he can switch to J Black to J Pink in no time makes him great. So are they going to discredit the awards and experience of SWF contestants now since they are in alot of TV shows especially Lip J and Honey J?
