The theorbo looks like it has more bass courses than what I'm used to seeing (as in many Thomas Dunford videos). But then, what do I know, I only play modern oboe (although my baroque oboe is on order).
Interesting observation! This theorbo has eight diapason courses which is historically the most common amount. A lot of modern lute players move some of the diapasons to the short neck in order to have more chromatic notes as the longer strings can't be fretted.
@@flutesandfretsduo You both play so beautifully and it works so well to have the flute take the vocal line in these songs. If you do requests how about the (totally gorgeous) Le doux silence de nos bois by D'Ambruis? Do you know it?
Yes! It is such a beautiful song - the manuscript that Le Doux Silence comes from contains some stunning songs. We should get round to recording some of them! Thank you very much for the suggestion
Merci beaucoup 🙏
This is incredibly charming. The two instruments complement each other marvellously, and the playing is both sensitive and viruosic.
Thank you so much!

Very nice. Nice lighting. A surprisingly dry sound from such an open space. Thank you for posting.
Thank you! Yes this location had a surprising acoustic - there isn't any glass in the windows is possibly the reason for this
Me encanta este dúo . Saludos desde Venezuela ! .

delightful - what s the flute made of I wonder?
Judging by the wood's dark colour I'd wager it to most likely be ebony.
Thank you!! It's actually made out of grenadilla wood - the flute was made by Martin Wenner in Germany, truly a lovely instrument to play on!
