old habits, passengers used to do that more in the past, seems occasionally still happens , i think someone started clapping and others went along with it here , but of course pilots do not appreciate that since they are highly trained and skilled and do land non stop

New Constantinople airport?

Yes that is the new airport of Istanbul. The older one on the Europe side of the city closed as the new opened. There is also an airport on the Asian side, but idk how long that was open
