I ordered my M3 Competition 2 weeks ago, I felt like the dealership tried to scare me off with the wait time, and encouraging me to look at other models. I was and am persistent, the best things are worth the wait. Probably going to be a year, but I have distractions as well, a two year old and another coming in August.

Great information, thanks! I am going through the same process myself at the moment. I ordered a M3 comp. RWD. Deposit in November 2021, allocation for 19th week build request, was build the 20th week, arrived at the port on May 19, in transit on June 3, in port again June 6, in transit again June 20. I live on the west coast so in general 4 weeks to Port Hueneme, CA. Then a few weeks to the dealer, so I am looking at the end of July for delivery, hopefully!
The two in transit steps is strange but it looks like more people have this because of big backups at the ports in Europe. They move cars around different ports in Europe. Tomorrow hopefully I will find out which ship it is on and have a better idea of the timeline.
For everyone who is in the process of ordering or waiting for delivery, be patience but I know it is hard, at least for me.

Thanks for chiming in and yeah the two times it went into transit confused me but I'm guessing it was from the back logged delays at the main port.

Great video with the update! I placed my order for my 2022 M3 6MT on July 3, 2021 and got delivery on Nov. 19, 2021. The process is a bit tedious but having the ‘My BMW app’ to check on the status is a plus. I used the marine traffic website to keep track of the vessel and all the stops it was doing with the times of departure from each port. Just FYI, your status will go back to At Port when the car gets to Brunswick, GA and then to In Transit when it goes to the Performance Delivery location in Spartanburg, SC. Hope this helps.

I found your video helpful and reassuring. I ordered my m3 xdrive in the beginning of march 22' for a grad present, and expecting it by June (like a typical m3 production). Here I am today still in order received. My car did go into scheduled for production at the end of April, but soon went back into order received. Praying that is hopefully an error. If not, hopefully will get it by August. Regardless it is hard to cope with this production process when there hasn't been any progress in my car in 3 months. Other than my venting and rambling, congrats on your g80 and cant wait to see it!

hey man i just ordered my g80 after 5 months of waiting for allocation and its in "order recieved " as of dec 9,2022 m3 comp xdrive ..... when do u think production will start and when do u think car will arrive at dealer ? thanks
It's tough to say. There's been so many different variables between what options you ordered. A lot of things could take a role regarding Parts delays, the and any unforeseeable delays. It also depends on if you picked up a individual option. But based on my experience you might get this late spring

Thanks for all the great content. The Orlando invasion was a blast to watch. New to the BMW community. Looking forward to meeting everyone. I just took delivery of my My Custom built G8X M3 on Monday and it was well worth the wait. From start to finish it took approximately 11 months. I am hoping your process is a lot shorter. My M3 sat at the port in Germany for 3 weeks before it was shipped. The transport took another month before the car was dropped of at the port of Newark NJ.
Like I said the process is well worth the wait. Demand for these cars are hi and if you were able to get your at sticker price That’s even better.
11 Months! wow but its good to hear that its well worth the wait! My M3 sat at the port of Germany for about a month. It should be arriving tomorrow in Georgia to be processed at the VPC center. Yeah the demand on these cars are high and im glad I ordered when I did .

This was a super helpful video I am about to start the order process on my m3
Congrats on the wedding. That waiting game is so tedious. You can download ship tracking apps to see where your vehicle is, once yours is in transit. My car took 20 days and 6 stops. Felt like it would never get here at the time, Lol. Looking forward to the content with the new M3.

I doing Same thing as you now lol, checking 10 times. Day. What was the total time when you were in transit to the dealer and ready to pick it up??
The entire process was about 8 months since I choose an individual color.
March 18, 2022: Scheduled for production
March 22, 2022: Production begins
March 30, 2022: Exterior body assembly begins
March 31, 2022: In the paint booth
April 5, 2022: Assembly in progress
April 6, 2022: Quality check
April 7, 2022: Ready for transport
April 7, 2022: Awaiting carrier assignment
April 11, 2022: Dispatched from factory
April 13, 2022: At Port
May 9, 2022: In Transit (BMW Genius said my vehicle might have been transported to Belgium cause of the back log in Germany)
May 10, 2022: At Port
May 17, 2022: In Transit
June 1, 2022: At Port (Brunswick GA)
June 7, 2022: Work order completed
June 7, 2022: Email was sent to BMW Performance Center regarding possible dates to take delivery. My dates submitted were June 27 and June 28.
June 8, 2022: June 28th was accepted by BMW Performance Center.
Keep in mind this was a few years ago and times have changed.
@@TheDailyDrivencool, thanks. I was tracking a diff M3 then mine and it was showing in transit for 3 weeks and now it’s showing back at the port lol. Mine is still at port. They are playing with your emotions and this ain’t right 😂
Thanks for sharing your experience and congrats on getting close to delivery. I got in line at my local northern VA dealership last week. My CA estimates there will be an allocation for me come August/Sept and we will officially submit the build then. He says it will take approx 60 days from that point before it moves into production. All in all he thinks delivery will be about this time next year. Ordering a manual with an individual color.

I am on the waiting list on my local dealership for my M3 and once an allocation is assigned production would last 2 months. After watching this video i wonder if it still same scenario as 2 yrs ago
When i ordered my 2017 m240i convertible, the order date was june6th and i picked it up at the dealer on August8th, so exactly 8 weeks, when i ordered my 2022 x3xdrive, i ordered the last week of January and picked up the car at the dealership the middle of February, it was less than a 3 week build

@@TheDailyDriven hey man so I placed a order for my m3 a few weeks ago they said we have a allocation and that bmw told them they have the parts for my order but told me I have to wait 1-2 months for a production number… is that normal ? Cuz on the forum they said usually within the next hour
It looks like this is going to be my journey in 2 months because I can’t find a single m3 that’s customized like how I want it and there’s nothing individual from it 😭
One of the best things about ordering brand new is having the opportunity of going individual. Just touch base with a sales advisor, some people have been saying that individual colors are being put on pause. Some also has mentioned that carbon roofs, and carbon buckets have been put on hold. Not sure how true that is but it's something what I've seen on the forums recently
I ordered mine almost a month ago. Still dont have a build link. I did ask for individual tho, im excited it’ll be my first new car. Im 3rd in line on the allocations list with my dealership
Hopefully the movement becomes quick. It all depends on how many Ⓜ️ allocations your dealership gets. Patience is key 🔑
The waiting game is terrible but it will be well worth it. I can’t wait to see it.

I put in my order and deposit on Jan 6, 2022. I was a week 14 build, then was told I'd start in May, have had a production # since April 2022. Now they are saying all production slots on 2022's are filled and I can only get a 2023 now. And who knows when production will start on that...anyone else hear something similar?
I've read that on the forums and hopefully they open orders up. I know my sales advisor said that the order banks are getting back logged. Fingers 🤞🏻 crossed that is get your order filled and bein the process
Not going to lie it was hard keeping the secret when you first told us you ordered the G80 lol I can relate to things being annoying when you have to wait for it. No body likes to wait but this will be worth the wait and all of us your subscribes are waiting with you. Can't wait for the performance delivery video!

Good luck body, my sales guy told me waiting time would be 1 year at this moment due to the shortage. Not worthy, because BMW will add price to your car when you pick up.

You are getting chalk individual color. It shows on the app. Also congrats for the wedding. I'm getting married in September and expecting my m3cx same month or October at the latest.

I’m really torn between the manual non comp and a comp rwd. I’ve driven a Manual daily for the last 5 years but the extra power of the comp is where I’m torn but I don’t also want to be “bored” driving a auto comp…. If they were the same power output it would be a no brainer for me to go MT….
Depends on what gets your jollies most. The control and feeling of the manual and three pedals far outweighs the additional power. Not even close. I’m not racing the car. My enjoyment is purely for myself and when I need that (lower) power on the street. But yeah if you are racing, competing, you may want the additional power. I’m loving my 2022 base.
Damn, how long are people waiting for their xdrive build ?
During that time it was a year + cause of parts shortages. Now it's been a little bit better but it all varies.

Yeah the wait times are long. You'll more than likely get a LCI 2023.
