I find we have quite in common, ya ustez! We are both language enthusiasts and have a passion for string instruments, in this case the Oud. Excellent summation on MELODIC GRAMMAR, in regards to maqam. Music is indeed the language of all languages!
This course doesn't contain any rhythms, only maqams. Depending on what your purposes are you might be better off learning the rhythms with a free website like maqamworld.com. but if you need extra help understanding what's in that website and how to actually use these maqams and rhythms then email me at support@oudforguitarists.com and maybe I can help you.
Hi , Im planning to start learning playing Oud but I have NO music background literally I know NOTHING !! And I don't know where to start ? Do I really need to learn music scales and Maqamat or I can just play with lessening !!
Everything is possible in music, there are countless self taught musicians, your ear is your best friend in music, feel free to experiment and let listening guide your hands

this is really great, thanks. would you also do lessons for turkish makamler?
to be honest I wanted to learn Arabic rhythms, along with theory, and some maqoms without using oud. can I get that by following this Maqom master?
