This song does such a good job portraying her feelings in general. The anime never covered it but Raphtalia had given up on life before she met naofumi. He brought back not only her freedom to be herself but her will to live as well.

@@mewsic the reason for her completely giving up on life isn't covered in the LN till after the next wave so I didn't expect it to be addressed quite yet. It's not pretty to say the least. If they do it right you will be shaking with anger about on par with how people are reacting to (bitch). I'm trying not spoil because I'm not sure if you have read the source material or not.
@Frontrider that is not an extra chapter that is strait from the main novel brought up after the next wave. This post is heavy spoilers.

@@martindharmawan5567 probably because Naofumi doesn't think of Raphtalia as a romantic partner, and because Raphtalia hides her feelings for him. She's too embarrassed to tell him because he has said in the past that he thinks of her as his daughter, which obviously makes things a little weird.
@@williamharrison5062 but he does later in the manga. And Raphtalia is already in love with him, she gets jealous of any woman he shows interest in.
This is one of favorite songs ever, I love looping it while studying. It’s so comforting, you did an amazing job on this one.

They find each other and he gives her kindness, food, medicine he stays by her side holding her to chase away the nightmares and gives her a reason to live and fight. Then while on the ground in despair filled with rage she returns his kindness and stands up for his character and name. Then gives him her arms embracing him letting him know that no matter what she will stand by his side and be his sword and eternal companion never to leave him. Now they lend each other a shoulder to lean on and cry on while fighting side by side try to save the world so that others won’t have to feel the same sorrow and pain. He must return to his world some day, but till that day comes he won’t return until she finds happiness. Not knowing that he is her happiness and she is his.
