Thank you!!! I've been trying to factory reset for days using hardware buttons. I had no idea S21 had to plug into a PC.
Thankfully I found your video, it worked first time... halalooya!!
Tip if you havent got a pc - I plugged a charging cable with C connection at either end into my tablet and it worked!!
Thanks again, I have literally gone grey trying to do this. Legend!!

you're welcome! Samsung made this change a few years back (with the OneUI 4.0 update, I think) and not many people were aware of it
that's a great tip about the USB cable. I appreciate you sharing that information with the community

So I got a wild card here. My s21 did some weird stuff during a forced update, started to overheat at 99% on install.
Took about an hour of playing with the power button to power on, and worked despite me not knowing what made it turn on again. Second update came through a few weeks later, no overheating but the same issue with the power button.
Device battery finally died despite my efforts to usually keep it charged above 10%, plugged it in to charge and it indicated it was charging on screen, woke up the next day and now it just won't turn on and I've been playing with it for over a week now. The screen lock functions worked fine through all this despite the power on issues.
AT&T considered it "unresponsive" and basically told me to kick rocks when it came to a data transfer.
New S21 arrived in the mail, and when connecting via USB C through the provided cord it will charge the old device, but due to the old S21 not powerimg on it seems a c to c transfer is put of the question. Can I potentially reboot it remotely via a PC ADB or an ADB software on the new device? Since I need to erase data before sending the old device in I may as well try, I just have a potato PC from 2007 and no 2.0 to C dongles.

    • @ExplainingAndroid
      @ExplainingAndroid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

if you can execute ADB commands on the thing, then the command "adb reboot" should work just fine
or "adb reboot recovery" will reboot the phone and send it into Recovery Mode

@@ExplainingAndroid ahah! Cool beans dude. Every service center near me won't even claim to know about ADB so it's all on me to try. Even authorized sansumg service centers.

@@ExplainingAndroid well I gave it a whirl but unfortunately despite accepting a charge from my other phone it didn't get picked up by the PC even with a dongle adapter.

Really weird that samsung is making things difficult for people. Probably most owners want to sell their old phone for a new one. And have to do a "Factory reset". This is NOT a "customer first" service company. Really annoying. Thanks for good informative video.

  • @reeshar1234

Nope, plugging into a PC doesn't seem to work any more with latest Android 13 on an S21 Plus. If the phone shows it's charging it won't work. According to another TH-cam video that has been true since Android 11 & 12, but I can't verify. What *did* work for me, following the other video's instructions, was inserting a headphone adaptor and then doing power and up-volume. Straight into recovery. Could you update your video please for others with the same issue. Thanks!

My Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G was working very well with the Christmas decorations on there. I received a text message from a female hacker saying: I got your number and i hacked your phone. Few minutes later my phone started to act very strange than it got stuck on the boot loop. I went into the Android recovery mode to wipe out the partition than I get an error message at the bottom of the screen saying:
[ libfs_mgr ]Error updating for slotselect.
I select "Reboot system now" than my phone still were stuck on boot loop 😟
Can somebody please help me ? 😨 and is it because it was hacked ? 😨
    I am crying 😰
