Hairstyles during this phase is arguably one of the things that makes the 1st year after the transplant so difficult. I plan to just wear a head covering / scarf (with satin inside).
Hi. I got my FUT done in Florida two years ago and was thinking to do a second. Did this make the back of your hair look a lot less full since the scalp will be less? Thank you and hope that you are well!
@ thank you for responding. So you’re thinking to do an FUE instead of taking another strip of skin in the back with the FUT to avoid having less hair in the back? I already feel like the back of my hair is so much less hair.
@ No no. So I’m saying for me, doing an FUE would have absolutely caused me bald patches at the back because I have low density hair. Look at my 16 months video; there’s no less hair there. Remember they take out a strip for the FUT and from the procedure done at NT Florida, hair is growing through the scar. So there are no gaps unless you keep the hair short and the scar is exposed.
Hi Rhandzu. I am not sure, something a doctor can respond to. 9 months or a year is not a long time to wait though :). Just wait and follow the Dr's orders.
Hi Boitumelo how are you doing? I'm considering getting a hair transplant in Europe the options presented to me were sapphire fue and dhi. If you don't mind my asking, why did you go with fut? Were fue and dhi presented as options or are they less suitable for afro hair than fut?
Hi Shungu. I went with FUT for a number of reasons, but paramount was that I have very low density hair and an FUE would have left me with worse looking hair at the back of my head. Remember that the hair plucked out of your head using the FUE method will never grow again. So if you do not have dense hair to cover for the plucked out spots, your hair will look spacey. Most men get away with this because they generally wear their hair in a fade, but for us ladies, especially with afro textured hair, it will show if you do not have dense hair. I don't know whether you are male or female as I understand that will affect your decision. I unfortunately do not know the DHI technique to comment on it. Send me a DM on Instagram if you want to chat some more.
@@BoitumeloTumiRikhotso thanks so much! I'm female. DHI extraction is similar to FUE extraction but they directly implant hair after extraction and the surgen has more control over angle and aesthetics because of the tool used that allows them to tailor each implant also the follicles have a better chance of survival because the hair is extracted and immediately transplanted.....so I'm told. With FUT does the hair grow back thats been taken out?
@@shungumariti7742 I see - ok, thanks for the info on DHI. With FUT, that strip of skin is cut out / off your head so what you are left with is a scar where the two pieces of flesh were stitched closed. The challenge is that some clinics really don't do a good job of closure. With me, my first scar is very obvious, but the Natural Transplant scar is even difficult to find.
@@BoitumeloTumiRikhotso ok and does the hair grow back where the skin is stitched together or it doesn't grow back but because the donor area is closed by stitching it together there is no obvious thinning?
Hi Shungu. What type of hairloss do you have? Was your diagnosis through biopsy? Have you tried a natural remedy approach yet. What are your ferritin levels? Are you menopausal?
Thank u for sharing your journey with us, loosing hair is depressing 😞 by the grace of God I would love to go to Florida for my transplant.
Thank you for the update ❤️

Hi JP. I shot both videos (5 & 6 months) but have been snowed under with exams. I promise to upload this week still. 😘

Hi Brooke. I can't tell a difference and I have a small head. So no, I think if you did an FUE procedure that's something you would worry about.

@ ah ok but they take a strip so there is less actual skin there? I got the FUT done there too and I feel like I have less thickness in the back
how much is the sum for procedure
Had my second one done last week
Great! Where did you have yours done? Did you get the FUE or FUT?
