Watch This Guy Build a Bike Frame Out of Wood From Start to Finish

David Parker of Auckland, New Zealand, was looking for his next woodworking project. He was inspired by images of beautiful wooden bikes he had seen on Instagram. He had already built several guitars, and even a canoe but wanted a new challenge. Without any in-depth instructions to follow, he built a wooden bike frame, referencing a steel bike he owned as a template for the geometry.

It's beautiful but wood, although having pretty good specific strength, have very low modulus so dimensions much be much bigger than for metal.

But, that considering, wood can have thicker walls (or solid) while still being quite light.
