- Here is a very professional (I don't think) setup showing the four remaining analogue channels from the Sheffield transmitter being switched off permanently on 24 August 2011. BBC2 analogue was switched off two weeks earlier. Each set is tuned to (clockwise from left) Channel 5, BBC1, Channel 4 and ITV1. The clock is exactly BST.
No warning, just like other UK regions - one minute it's there, the next it's static. Is it asking too much to put some warning message up on the screen?
Would be nice if BBC1 played the National Anthem for the final shutoff, or did a closedown announcement before pulling the plug... still, nice capture.
There is for some
BBC One-Britian's Bravest Cops
BBC Two-Town With Nicholas Crane
It's such a weird concept, actually turning off the analogue signal forever. It's hard to explain why I find it so weird but it just is.
It sounds sad but I actually found this quite interesting to watch :) Nicely done
It may be low-budget but it is professional. It is an accutate record of an historical moment (which I missed). Thanks for taking the trouble to record this.
I really want to record this in Adelaide but I'm not sure I can! Great for doing it man, seriously appreciate the effort you took. Historic moment!
I like how Channel 5 has more time of Analog compared to the others
Channel 5 always shuts off last
What was Ch 5 doing that took so long? Its a shame no one did this for The Midlands :(
@Tomsonic41 Some US staiong did do that before shutting analog off in June of 09 but i missed it all
