43 and STILL waiting for a spouse...and it's not due to a lack of trying. "Hopeless" and "frustrated" are understatements.
It's telling that the Catholic institutional response to the marriage crisis is not "Wow, we need to help men and women get together!" but rather "Tsk, tsk, these guys are idolizing marriage too much!"
Now, I don't think Frs. Pine and Kress have reached that level, but it's an attitude that saturates the Catholic world.

What's a devout Catholic ?
A devout Catholic is one who loves the Mass and frequents the Sacraments. A Catholic should never marry a non-Catholic because they could not connect on the deepest level.
I wonder if the idea of a soulmate became prominent in the 1970s. I remember reading a book by a very popular writer of the time who even left his wife and children to search for a soulmate. He did have to acknowledge that being with his “soulmate” was a whole lot more difficult than he had anticipated.
