    It's incredible to witness such a young guy speak to an industry veteran like Roman as if he himself has been in the business for just as long! Not to mention, he holds his own and knows all the right questions to ask someone far more experienced than himself so that Roman can share the amazing nuggets of information he has learned in his 20 years in the business. Amazing job all around guys!! 👏

      This is definitely fair and I know many who share a similar experience to you. There is no doubt regarding the quality with which Rolex watches are made and the undeniable feeling you get when putting one of their watches on wrist. Marco, you and Roman put out a really informative and educational video on Rolex. I learned alot more about the brand today, thank you.
    Didn't Paul Gosteli patent the micro rotor back in 1955? I know Patek used them back in the day.

      Awesome to hear this feedback Frank! You are correct it does date back to 1955. I meant to say newer variations after Rolex's release of their perpetual winding system but should have specified the time period I was talking about. The picture of the Patek micro rotor is more so just for context so people see what I'm talking about if they don't already know what a micro rotor is. Thanks as always for your support my man 😁🙌

    Interesting video! I own several Rolexes and simply love the brand. When folks complain about their lack of innovation they fail to understand Rolexes history. Patek had to wait until Rolexes patent for the automatic movement (originated in 1931), expired before they came out with there’s in 1953 with the cal 12-600 AT. Rolex was also in on the development of the silicon hairspring (but chose not to use it). They are an amazing company. Look past the hype and there is quite a bit of gravitas. Keep up the good work.

      It's very misleading that Rolex is run as a Charitable Trust / Non-profit organization... Technically yes (that's how they are registered) but there is actually very little proof of any charity. I believe Roman actually spoke about this in a previous video a while ago... best believe they are for profit and people (Owners) are making $$ hand over fist. So while yes technically, they are a charitable trust, Rolex specifically is ran more like a for profit business with some charitable initiatives and undertakings that they do such as providing numerous grants and scholarships especially in the fields of watchmaking and the arts and do a lot of public funding for schools and education centers mostly in Geneva. However, I do know that Rolex divests a lot of capital also into buying assets like real estate and land which I know they are rumored to own a lot of in Switzerland. • @MarcoFerranteWatches
      @MarcoFerranteWatches ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the love for mechanics can still be present. But it takes an evolution in the perception of the minds of people. I actually tend to disagree with this as it's really about perspective. Rolex makes tool watches, they're not meant to have intricately bevelled bridges and other intense classical watch finishing techniques. What Rolex watches are meant to do are withstand bumps and shocks and extreme conditions while still keeping accurate time which I think there really is no other brand in the world that can perform this task as adequately as Rolex.
      Another point that I think is also lost on people is a point we made in the video.. if you look at a Submariner when it was originally released in 1953 vs the modern references, you can see the DNA which has remained mostly unchanged apart from material and technical upgrades. Nothing wrong with staying with Rolex if you can buy it at retail. However, it is frustrating when a new watch customer walks into an AD and has no chance to ever buy one at retail. AD's don't even try to accommodate new customers. So a new watch customer has 2 choices: 1. buy Rolex from a grey market dealer, or buy another high quality brand other then Rolex.
